Default Update on the sequels directly from JC

In what looks like a radio interview, JC talks about the progress on the sequels.

Here's the link to the interview.

In it, he talks about HFR (High Frame Rate). No final decision yet, maybe only parts of the movie will be in HFR. As a side note, JC mentioned a few months back that he wanted to go 60fps instead of Peter Jackson's Hobbits 48fps.

He also talks about the length of production which should be shorter than the 4 years the first Avatar took because of the advances they made on the computer/technology side.

Also mentioned is the fact that they're still in the creative process and the movie will be shot in 4K.

Cheers!

I've never watched a 48fps movie, And people say it takes something away from the film, Now I don't know if that's true but with it being Avatar I feel it will just bring you closer to Pandora and the characters Now with it possibly being shot in 4k I've never seen any 4k demos but it's beyond HD! I can't imagine just How realistic Avatar 2 will look with 48fps and 4k.
Over all I think at the vary least They should make the Fast moving seens in 48fps so they move smoother. Avatar 2 Is looking like it will the most Epic Film of all time I can not wait.
Thanks for posting! Vary cool interview

That seems strange, switching from 24 to 60 mid movie. I really hope he doesn't do that, don't want there to just be another reason for people to say Avatar gives them headaches.

I was thinking that it could possibly Help with the fast motion blur effect that happens during a lot of moment on screen, Not to mention lots of awesome screen shot possibility's
How it would effect Giving People headaches I'm not sure.
Once the movie has been made They could run tests on audiences to see
how the movie is effecting them visually. And I think they could change the FSP. level for the Blu-ray release.
That's a good point You made though, I guess we'll have to see what JC. ends up doing.

Well some people find 60 fps gives them headaches, so I can imagine people saying that switching between two different frame rates would cause headaches too since you'd have to mentally adjust, even if the difference is ordinarily hard to detect over a short time.
