Default Updates on the sequels shooting from JC

Update from the Fox presentation at CineEurope with JC and Jon landau:

Lightstorm Entertainment’s Jon Landau came to the stage to say they are in the middle of production on James Cameron’s Avatar sequels, and tossed to a video from Cameron on set who said he is on day 130 of performance capture. He was standing in front of a giant water tank and noted water “plays a huge part” in the new movies which will travel to “never before seen parts of Pandora.” He asided that Kate Winslet can hold her breath underwater for seven minutes and that Zoe Saldana wrapped her part last Friday. The early results on the movies “are beyond even our expectations,”

Well, at least JC seems happy with the results so far (although to be fair, he wouldn't have said otherwise in front of that crowd).
Also, 130 days (over 4 months) of performance capture and they aren't finished yet, wow.

Here's the link.

Cheers!

how do you spend over a BILLION DOLLARS on four sequels/prequel, and not do even the slightest bit of advertising, promotion, news updates, and merchandising such as novels, calendars, comics, film special editions/re-releases, anything? smh.

Avatar 2 is at least twenty five months away. Right now, I couldn't name for you three movies with concrete release dates coming out after Avengers part 4 and that comes out at the start of May.

Yeah in truth the current activity (3 websites, upcoming comic book series, active social media accounts etc, a slow but steady drip feed of content) is still actually kind of impressive for how long it until the next movie is out.
