I just read this book by William Gladstone. Definitely only for those with a serious New Age bent, but you may find that it speaks to you in some of the same ways as Avatar. It's about finding twelve individuals revealed in a near death experience to a young man, a quest that lasts decades more until the fateful date of 21 December 2012. For all the woo-woo in it, it is surprisingly readable and suspenseful.
