Default Favorite books?

I'll start.

I generally tend to read a little of everything, though I stay centered around science fiction, and hard science fiction at that.
  • Stephen Baxter - Manifold trilogy, Vacuum Diagrams, Titan, Ring
  • Arthur C. Clarke - The Rama series
  • Isaac Asimov - The Foundation series
  • Robert J. Sawyer - Calculating God, Factoring Humanity

Yay, the Inheritance Cycle

I have a lot of favourite books, generally read mostly scifi and fantasy.

A few favourites I would DEFINITELY recommend if you haven't read:
-Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson
-The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy

and of course, the Survival Guide

I'm ashamed to admit there's not much I have read in the grand scheme of things. I do like Neil Gaiman's books though.

I highly recommend Baxter above. Especially Vacuum Diagrams, which is actually a collection of short stories that take place during the Xeelee sequence. Or the Manifold Trilogy (Manifold Space, Time and Origin). Space and Time were great. Origin was just okay IMHO though.

If you're reading Stephen Baxter, read Titan. It's the most realistic scifi book I've ever read, and scarily accurate...

Why? It is a good book (10 of them actually) and it shows how stupid people really are, so even the aliens do not want us.

This was actually the book that got me into Baxter. And yes it is a crazy awesome book. Really hard science fiction - probably some of the best of the genre.
