Default Sewing Machine Difficulty

I could use a lot of help from anyone knowing about sewing machines. I have one that is very old (not as old as Sarah's, don't worry ) and it has various problems though it seems to be in generally good condition. I'd hate to toss it if the problems could actually be fixed or were somehow my fault. Problems include a stuck bobbin winder, constant bunching of fabric and tangling of thread occurring under the machine when sewing, most of the time so soon and so much that only a few stitches get done, and feed dog movement (maybe?), sometimes it seems as though they don't move fabric at all but that could be related to the problem before this. If anyone has any ideas on any of it, I'd really appreciate some help.

The problem seems to be that the old one couldn't really handle the intense furs I was putting through it. It can sew regular cottons and stuff, but I'm making a fursuit
Please excuse my ugliest most low res picture, but I'm living out of a backpack now
New one I had before in a box:

Maybe the machine can't handle the tough fabric..It seems like the needle is struggling to thread through the fabric successfully..
Try asking at a local fabric store..ask them what machine specs you need to sew fur successfully.

The needle I should be using is 14, and that's what I have. I really think it's something wrong with the machine or the thing that turns the bobbin case. Either way, sewing machine pros I've talked to say I'd have to bring it into a shop and that would cost minimum $100, which is why I was trying to find a cheaper solution (free if possible ) online.

New needles.

Even if the size is right, an older needle will be dull and will cause a lot of the problems you describe. Get some brand new needles of the right size and give it a shot.

Might not fix all the issues, but totally the cheapest thing to try that might get you there.

The 14 sized needle is from the 50s, but it was in the package never before used, so I don't think it was a needle problem. The needles are also Sears brand, same as the machine, so it wouldn't be an incongruity with needle size.

Nice Kxetse!

I'd still drop a few bucks and try some newer needles.

I got some newer needles with the new machine, Singer needles, tried a 14 and it broke Sometimes manuals say "don't use needles from other brands!" just because they want more of your money, but apparently it really is because of a size difference :/

I have my moms old one. She's made 100's of clothes on it. It still works well. When we moved to Hawaii it was the ONLY thing she took, she moved it that much. It's from the 40's

I'd want it, but I probably can't fit in it my car. About how big is it and does it come inside a table?

No it has this wood box that goes over it. You carry it all together in one piece. It's old but will be working long after I'm dead. It's built really well. My mom loved it. She was really big on making costumes and clothes with it. It would make me and her very happy to have you use it for that!

1. change the needle it could be bent
2.if the fabric is too thick it could cause a problem
3. If the fabric is like felt then the thread could get stuck in it
4.if none of these work than you may as well get a new machine!
