josie, what's your OS?
It's odd, considering that on all computers I have tried it on, Opera has been way faster than any other browsers.

Well, I'll keep it in mind whenever I get a new computer.
BTW, I say "new computer" because I'm not going to upgrade to Windows 7 with this computer. In fact, my next computer will probably be a Mac.

Firefox
-It has all the important basic functionality that some browsers are missing *cough*chrome*cough* -from an RSS reader to a popup blocker that actually WORKS (in my experience, Chrome and IE both let some through), but isn't massively bloated with useless features like mouse gestures (great way to accidentally close tabs), email/torrent/IRC clients (useless IMHO, but if you want them, firefox has addons for all those), or even an actual WEBSERVER (can you say security/privacy risk? )-Customisability. There is an add on for everything you ever wanted, plus making themes is easy, as is switching between them as needed. -Stability. Say what you want, I've found firefox the most stable browser I've used (with a heavy load)... Chrome randomly loses tabs, and sometimes flash crashes completely in it while firefox works lag-free (ironically, using less memory per tab than chrome) -no 'quick search'. The URL bar should be for URLs. There's a search bar for searching. - Customisability, I can add just about anything I like, and change a LOT of performance and appearance settings in about:config Proper session management. Undo closed tabs within a window rather than globally, confirm before closing a window with >1 tab (unlike Chrome where you will lose the whole lot completely unrecoverably), session recovery on restart. - Easily backed up/copied profiles -Amazing interface where it takes less than 6 or 7 clicks to find anything, unlike chrome or IE where everything is hidden. -Open source -Free -Finally, Not a privacy risk. Did you know that chrome sends every keystroke you type to google? Yes, I know Firefox has a phishing filter, but that uses a downloaded list IIRC rather than sending people data. ![]() Truthfully, I couldn't care less if it's missing bloat I will never use (and which I could install if I wanted ) or if it's 0.0001 seconds slower.

Opera is bloated
![]() It's also proprietary and costs money IIRC. Plenty of comparison there I made to opera

Uh, what, no.
First of all, yes, opera 10 and below was quite bloated. This really has changed in 10.6 though. Second, Opera is completely free.

I like Opera because it just feels like there's so much more space. The bar at the top with all the tabs and sh*t is only like half an inch wide. Those mouse gestures are pretty handy, too. Also, I've never had Opera crash on me, even with the 15 or 20 tabs I always seem to have open.
As for themes, yeah, I did like that about firefox, but I don't really miss it. I'm usually looking at the webpage more than the browser.
