Another victim here. Bioluminescense is so much win.

Yeah - sad that biolumie is only widespread in the deep sea (which was so much the greatest influence on the design of Avatar). But i guess there is no gain for species to have it otherwise sadly

I saw bioluminiscent moss yesterday :0
I was very Pandora-nostalgic since morning, wanted to post smth, out of feeling/intuition, not logic - & the post disappeared w an auto reply "You are not logged in" WHAT? That put me on a bigger downer & I decided to go for a walk in a forest (luckily there is one, even with a stream which makes several small waterfalls as it goes).
I got myself well hidden in the bush close to the waterfall and... saw smth that definitely looked like bioluminiscence! It was just moss but it really seemed to give out its own green-yellowing glow (not a reflected light). I stared & stared, & it was there, like "hello from Pandora" - that felt good!
Now, coming from some scientific genes, my logical mind said: "That's the trick of light reflecting in the water spray covering this particular moss" - ok maybe it was but it LOOKED LIKE bioluminiscence. I decided to be happy with just this semblance - I am not really a scientist, & I love fairytales...

AFAIK, there ARE some actual bioluminescent species of such plants, but either way, I can understand the similarity... I wish I would see something like that.
