I cured my depression by doing one thing. Thinking that our planet can be saved and that we can all contribute. I also watched some beautiful nature videos on YouTube. Now that was relaxing

I can't see the stars very clearly where I live either. It really does feel good just to look up and marvel at the scope of the universe. It makes me wonder what is out there beyond our world.

I joined AF, finding a lot of people who thought the way I did was a great thing.

-Learn the Na'vi language (hardcore now)
-Day dream a lot more, hopefully soon practice lucid dreaming
-see the movie more
-talk with people on this wonderful community

I'll probably come up with more as I think of them, although I have noticed I have been becoming very down lately, I wasn't as happy as I used to be... I haven't seen the movie in like two weeks, I'll see it again Friday night hopefully that should cure my insanity

-Listening to music that reminds me of Pandora and meditating.
-Learning Na'vi (All be it half-heartedly. )
-Drawing, designing and making things from Avatar or that are Avatar-inspired.
-(Possibly) Taking up archery.
-Getting out into nature more.

also great things to do... Meditating in nature is very very relaxing, either in silence or listening to soft calming music, like for me trance genre or calm songs with pianos or violins, like The Village soundtrack by James Newton Howard is incredibly soothing.

I just talked, talked and talked until my fingers were sore from typing. I listened to the Soundtrack, drew pictures, did PC artwork. Tried mixing a bit of music...
Watched the movie more...
I just talked mostly, I had to get it out!

Talking always helps... I don't even want to think about where I would be right now if I hadn't found AF back in the early days of my PAD...

Weren't you the guy who wanted PAD back ?

You'll get a very similar depression once you realize our planet cannot be saved by us.

He might be like me, and it depends on how your feeling or want to feel... Some days I wish I had my PAD back, it would bring back memories of that unforgettable week when I first saw Avatar, brig back those restless sleepless nights, being driven slightly mad as to why I was so in love with that movie and had no one I could talk about something this deep. But other days I'm cool without it

PAD still regularly hits me. It happens most times after I see the movie, and the OST can cause it pretty much on demand. I'm not sure that effect will ever go away, and I'm not sure that I want it to. I've learned to deal with it and accept it at this point.

The first week or two, it was quite serious and completely dominated my every moment. Finding and starting to read AF didn't cure it, but it did make it easier to deal with seeing so many others affected the same way. Like others have said, I actually am not sure how it would have come out had I not found those forums, and I'd rather not know.

My PAD never really went. It kind of comes and goes in severity, if I had to rate it out of 10 I'd say it might go down to maybe 3 or 4 sometime before going back up to 8 or 9, 10 occasionally - usually when I've got other problems as well.

I still spend almost all my time on various Avatar related things, even if it's just listening to the OST while I do something.

I agree with zongtseng, I think PAD will always be part of me now. I wouldn't really ever want to lose it anyway, as I'd be losing so much of what made Avatar special to me.

I had the same problem that is now called PAD many years ago, starting in the late 80s. I only just got over it about 3 weeks before my first viewing of Avatar. How ironic. One way I cope with my personal version of paradise being intangible is to realize that it is real on a level that really counts, in my heart. And I believe that the peek I got into paradise would not have affected me as much as it did, if it were not a real place that I have actually been to, therefore it is possible that I will be there again someday. (cue the last lines to "breathe" by Pink Floyd)
