A long, slow decline involving an unsuccessful revamp of the site that did away with its own forums, eventually leading to the whimper of its death. This site and Learn Na'vi are the primary English-speaking forums now. Tree of Souls has always been my home but I'll always be bummed that Avatar Forums is gone.

Ah, that kind of sucks. I haven't been active since the time Avatar was still in cinemas though, but back then I was spending a lot of time on the forum.
I wonder if they create another forum if the sequel is released. |

![]() Looking through Avatar Prime however I can see that it never really did have a 'prime' time with mass activity and I can't see it ever taking off even when Avatar 2 comes out as most of the community is already established here. But maybe I'll be wrong, I mean alots changed within the 10 years since the film came out, who knows how Avatar 2 will be received in today's PC culture (I'm referring to far left-wing liberals here who are quick to jump the gun calling things 'cultural appropriation'). I'm just curious as to how the discussions here will change compared to the release of the first film, I mean I wasn't around when the Avatar Community was in its hay-day so it'll be exciting to see an influx of new genuine (as in no spammers trying to sell me condos in Poland) members ![]() (Oooops, went a bit too political/off topic here, sorry!!)

I was a very active member of the NaviBlue site for years, even after members started fading away, right up until its unfortunate demise when the site was hacked and everything virtually destroyed. Its been resurrected as NewHometree.com, but of course there is hardly any activity on the site, just a few of the original core members who basically say good morning to each other each day. I used to spend hours each day on NaviBlue, which was a hilarious site full of member's Avatar jokes, parodies, fan fictions and other shenanigans. I actually met my mate on NaviBlue, and although we lived 6000km away from each other at the time, we decided to meet at an Avatar Meet that I hosted in Toronto in 2011 or 2012, discovrred that we were as crazy about each other in real life as we were on the forums, and she decided to pack everything up and move 6000km to be with me (sometimes your whole life boils down to one insane move). We're still together, just returned from a trip to Disney's Pandora (which was absolutely incredible!) We pretty much live in "the House of Avatar" with collectors memorabilia all over the house, and an Avatar themed bedroom complete with a wall to wall Avatar mural and a 7ft LED "Tree of Voices".
I've also been a member of Tree of Souls and LearnNavi since 2010, but most of my time was spend on NaviBlue up until my mate and I started our own business and all of our free time evaporated. Looking forward to the Avatar Meet this summer. |

Whats this sneaky "product placement" I see?
Jokes aside (hilarious I know) That's quite the story you have there! Damn. Certainly doesn't happen every day ![]()

Ha ha! No product placement intended, but you're certainly welcome to join!
![]() There's just not much to see or talk about around there at the moment, and I fear that even once the next Avatar movie comes out, NewHometree will never regain it's former NaviBlue glory as most of the members who left before the site hack wouldn't know that it's now NewHometree. I've started checking in daily again on NewHometree and Tree of Souls now that we've returned from our trip to Disney's Pandora and we just want to go back. It's gotten me addicted to Avatar and the fan sites all over again, craving those days when we hung out on the forums all day with the other crazy Avatards. |

![]() I'm sure you don't need me to tell you, but the Avatar community is very special - sites like TOS haven't survived solely on discussion about the film but rather as a result of genuine friendships that have developed - in other forums I just haven't seen anything similar, they are less personal and since there are so many members you rarely get to 'bond' with anyone or have deep discussions.... ya get me? (my god, I keep de-railling the thread ![]() I don't know what to say about getting the word to your old members, regarding the new site - all I can really say is that when the sequel comes out those old members will likely congregate back here - which is bad news for 'New hometree' - but atleast that passion you missed on the forums will be back again.

And in regards to friendships made on the Avatar forums, there are still a few from the old Naviblue site that I'm still in contact with today, and one in Germany that we even visit whenever we can make it over there. And of course my muntxate and I are looking forward to all of the new friends we'll meet when we finally get to attend an Avatar Meet this summer! ![]() |
