Well I dont think thats a good idea (damn PC, I cant switch to english keyboard - hence the lack of apostrophes sorry) since you probably wouldnt last very long. You need to learn some basic survival skills to do that. Also when you turn 40, you might wanna go back to the civilisation for whatever reason, like make a family - not everyone wants to live in a forest, and you wouldnt be able to get a work without some education.

No.

Visit the wilds, maybe. Live there? No.

You will be miserable after a few weeks, I can guarantee it.

A movie called "Into the Wild" is what you're looking for.

It depends... Don't let people tell you what you can do, prove them wrong if it's what you really want to do... But at the very least, I'd say prepare properly - get properly physically fit, learn survival skills, learn what you can eat, learn how to build shelter and survive the conditions you'll be living in, learn how to treat injuries because they WILL happen, and I'd definitely suggest bringing some modern resources - medicines, etc, and stuff for other emergencies. You don't need to use them, but if you do end up a bad situation, they could definitely save your life.

Also, it's a big decision, make sure you're confident and that it's definitely what you want to do, make sure you won't end up missing everything... Perhaps try living without as much as you can for a while within modern society just to see how hard it is and how much if anything you'd miss.

I have to add, that just like HNM said, if you get out you've got to have a method to survive, know what you've got to do and how to face certain situations. Also, the change must be gradual, you can't suddenly be living in the country when a week before you were comfortably staying warm in your apartment.

You can always achieve your dreams, but be realist.

I had the same urge when I was in high school, collected books on living off the land, read about how to build my own shelter, the whole thing. (That was back in the 70's) I have done enough camping in tents with minimal amenities to know that it's a lot tougher than you think.
Remember how little Jake knew about 'living in the wild', he needed to learn how to live the way the Na'vi did.
Do research but I urge you not to drop out of school. Plans don't always go the direction you wanted and, as my mom said, 'you need something to fall back on' if your original plans don't go through.
Go camping with someone, 'roughing it' and see how you like it. I'm speaking from experience and age, if you are able to go through with it more power to you, just remember though you have a lot of life and experience ahead of you, lots of time to try different things and experience different aspects of life and living.

Exactly what I was thinking.

However, I want to be happy with what I've done in society before I leave. We only live once, apparently. May want to find your 'Neytiri' first.

1. That is a terrible, terrible idea. I agree with Zenit, watch that movie. It's very tragic.
2. Don't end your post with your name.

Honestly, just wait a couple weeks, you'll forget most all about wanting to go live on Pandora.

Also have agree with Patrice, go camping.

If only it were so easy... And fulfilling. Culture shock has a funny way of messing with your head once you're out there!

Well I say, if it's your dream, go for it.

Life was meant to be lived. And if that's living for you (as it would ideally be for many others here I suspect) then go do!

Also keep in mind living on Pandora would be a lot different than the (comparatively) much harsher forests of our planet! I disagree with Oliver from the standpoint that it's just a phase- rather, I would focus your energies toward something that will create a little bit of Pandora for yourself here, as well as make it a better place for everyone else too!

(Mad run on sentence...!)
