I recently watched Avatar, I think a couple weeks ago. As for watching it before the re-release, I most likely won't watch it until that day.

IMAX 3D here I come. I never saw it in IMAX before. I've seen it in 3D, but not IMAX 3D.

Haven't watched it in over a month and plan on holding off until the re-release.

Looking forward to IMAX 3D also

I'm going to see it once before the 27th---a couple of Avatarians are going to be in So.Ore Aug 14/15 & we'll watch it the evening of the 14th....REALLY WISHED that it would have been released the 13th---but I guess that is a "bad" date.....

Well, I haven't ever seen it on DVD or Blu-Ray... Ever. Never bought it, so I guess I'm pretty good at holding out.

0 times for me. I've only ever experienced Avatar mostly in Imax 3D, and a few times in 2D, but never off the big screen. I'm trying to keep it that way until November, when it'll never be in theaters again, and I'll never have the fullest experience again.

(I have 4 copies of the movie, 2 steelbooks and 2 slipcases )

Avatar is still the same on Blu-ray or DVD. Avatar doesn't automatically become a bad movie outside a movie theater. Avatar gives you a full, 100% experience no matter how, when and where you watch it. Watch it on a movie theater screen, watch it on a smaller computer screen/monitor, watch it on any size HDTV, watch it on an iPod, iPod Touch, iPhone, or any other video player. It doesn't matter, Avatar is still Avatar, no matter how you watch it.

Just my opinion though. I understand though about the movie theater experience being what you prefer.

Oh I know it's the same movie. I just mean the overall experience of watching with my field of vision completely engulfed by the theater screen, where I feel more like I'm on Pandora than watching it on a monitor or television.

I've decided to hold my breath. When I saw the extra footage in the trailer I knew it'd be worth it to hold off Avatar until its re-release.

*Double post* (doing these a lot lately :L)

It's true that the movie doesn't change when it's in the living room but you can't beat that massive screen, the IMAX 3D and the loud audio that you get in cinemas.

I tried to recreate the same "experience" but my neighbors complained.

Yes that's true about the big screen and audio though. 3D, meh, doesn't make Avatar any better, just gives it the "wow effect".

Hehe, I can create the same experience, albeit with a "turn that down it's too loud!!!!" sometimes from my parents.

I'm holding out, and it will make it that much sweeter.

I'll probably watch it once or twice on blu-ray, then wait for the re-release. Perhaps I'll relive the experience I had on my first viewing if I were give myself some time in between each viewing.

I'm holding out. I haven't even seen the re-release trailer, I want the new scenes to be a complete surprise when I go.
