Default "The Forest Will Heal..."

I just watched Avatar to get PAE to write my feelings truely. On a daily basis, I'm usually depressed because of what I learned about how much hometree ment to the Na'vi. The more I learn about hometree's purposes, the more depressed and upset I get because more and more things I learned are gone and Jake has to live with an unredeemable deed for the rest of his life. Then I realize... life goes on. I Remind myself, Like a hero emerging from the ashes, a new life will emerge from the ashes of yesterday. I think agian about Jake's deeds, He gathers what he has left to prevent the corporation from dealing even more pain to the planet. He even mends the wounds Neytiri received in his baytarel. She forgivies him and they can actully start their new life together. And for those who have died eather from murder or in battle, Eywa has them taken care of. They will be waiting for the others when their time comes to see them again. In the end, everyone is OK.

Like in many Sci-fi films, Human civailzation's great symbols of thier past are washed away. I realize that anyone can move on in the aftermath of a disaster. And the Na'vi ecxel at craeting homes with only what is provied to them. They can restart their lives with a new home (even though it may not be in a 400 meter tall tree anymore).

I think with these reminders, I believe I can help alot of peple who have PAD from reflecting on the destruction. Just remember, "The forest will heal" and life goes on.

This is true. It will heal.

But think of it this way. You skin your knee, you hold it because it hurts, after awhile the pain goes away but the scratch remains for awhile till it heals then it is just a scar, but you see that scar everyday and you remember the pain of when you scraped your knee. Wouldn't it have been better to not have scraped your knee in the first place?

I understand what your saying and it does help to know that the forest will heal but it's better to not have been hurt in the first place.

But I like what you're saying.

I agree, everyone may be okay for a time being, but there will still be thoughts and pain in the back of their mind as they remember Hometree, a place where many memories were shared, a place of security, a place of warmth and closeness with others, a place where after the Iknimaya Na'vi can go make their bow from the wood of hometree, many sacred artifacts were lost, family members were lost... I'm not just focusing on the depressing its still something that occasionally bites at the back of the mind. Think about Jake, even though me may be the leader of the clan, he still has to live with the guilt of Hometree being gone because of his mistake. Still, the humans got what they damn well deserved, but I'm sure he has nightmares about that horrific day.

Like FoW said, it may be healed, but there's still that scar left.

Well said too brother good thread

Exactly. It doesn't matter if something is in the past, it doesn't change what happened. Even when the Omatikaya have a new Hometree, it doesn't bring back the dead, it doesn't change the fact that the original Hometree was destroyed, it doesn't mean the skypeople were never on Pandora.
I still hate what humans did and that won't change just because things will recover eventually. The same goes for PAD - no matter how things may make me feel temporarily happy, I'm still stuck here
I still belong somewhere else, while humans are still the same , I still wish life was different, I still want love like Neytiri's, I still live in this dying world

Now if only humanity could let it's own forests heal...

Stanley, I have to disagree with this. Jake is no way responsible for the fall of Hometree. That tree was gone, with or without Jake's presence on Pandora. RDA was beelining its way with bulldozers to Hometree to get the Unobtainium way before Jake set foot on Pandora.

Other than that, I agree with your thoughts.

Cheers!

He could have warned the Na'vi, they could have taken action themselves, maybe even got rid of the skypeople sooner, and him warning them would certainly earn their trust.

Thats exactly what I think. The RDA is reposable sololy because they used Jake as leverage to get the job done more quickly. When the Na'vi were angry when Jake told the truth, they thought he was just another dirt bag as all of the other Sky people and tided him up. I could only think how wrong they were when Jake came back. They didn't give him a chance to help them. When Mo'at finally gave them a chance to help by cutting them loose, I thought "Finally, Thank you" because they wanted to help, but the Na'vi didn't let them. Some of the blam for the dead is actually their's when you think about it because Grace and Jake told them they were coming and they wanted them to go to because they didn't want them to die, but they thought they were just the same, careless, heartless mercaless killers as the rest of the skypeople. Jake didn't know what he was getting into until it was to late

With the numbers they had at the time? I doubt it. The needed a toruk makto to get the numbers to kick them of. In the beginning of the Dream hunt deleted scene, he said that he was in a gaint pickal because if he told the truth, he would be screwed eather way. Even if he told the truth and warned them, they would have thought he was a propaganda tool and would have ignored him and would still stand to see their home be abliterated.

Sure, scars will remain for a while, but that mustn't keep you from living the rest of your life. Try to think in possitive terms about in the end. The RDA is gone, and the rest of Pandora is safe from it. We must not dwell in the past, we need to focus in the present. A new life awats, and Jake is taking it.

Edit: a request for future posters
I created this thread to lighten people's feelings of dispair from hometree, but now that your mentioning scars, it's heading in the negative derection again. So can we move from the nagative side to the positive side? I would like that because I want reasurence that I wrote a good thread. I stood up until 10:00 forming my words. Thank you.
