Very Good!!!! I just wish that people would open their eyes to the reality that is coming & embrace the kind of forward thinking that this video puts forward.....We as a people need to find peaceful, non-aggressive answers to the very real destruction of the earth as it is today. Steven Hawking is right---We need to expand outward--but we also need to mature as a race before we encounter other people on other worlds.

Amasing video! I wish we could get all our questions about the universe answered in our lifetime! Are we alone? How large is the universe? Will humanity spread out into space? So many questions, yet few if any will probably be answered in our lifetime ... if ever!

I thought about this lastnight after I made my last comment to this thread. The ideal mode of transportation to a distant star system such as Alpha Centauri, would involve the ability of a craft or ship to "fold or bend space". Ion propulsion drives are a gallant effort in the right direction, but as stated in the video, travelling at such great speed would be catastrophic if the vessel in question encountered a small particle such as gravel sized rocks.
To protect the ship, an energy field that surrounded it in some way, which could absorb the impact and transform it into energy would be a consideration, such as in Jon Kendall's "Tai-Falcon". There was a movie, years ago that had such a craft, that could fold space. The ship was called the "Event Horizon". The plot, albeit a bit gross was about the efforts of scientists and astronauts to recover the Event Horizon, which had been lost in space for a period of time. I realise that we are no where near having the technical advances to be able to produce such a craft as well, but I know the therory of "folding space" has been discussed by many astro-physicists. A ship such as the Event Horizon, would get us all to Pandora in a matter of hours, rather than years. ![]() Tey'Kan

That's one way to overcome the limitations of light speed
![]() One way to implement that, which is found in quite a lot of fiction, is to build gates which create the effect in some way (using a wormhole or singularity is one way), which would allow ships to travel to a point in each system where they could jump to another. Obviously, a cryo/fully automated ship would be needed to actually go to the linked system and construct the gate there, but after that, travel between the two would be near instant. Unfortunately, that technology is a long way off

True things said in that video and very good point you have, HNM. But I have a question which bothers me everytime I watch things like these, reffering to other worlds that we might find in the far reaches of Space... that is : Do we know everything about our world as we want so bad to find another ? I think we didn't finished our job here, on Earth, it's the biggest wonder we have and we didn't find out all the answers about. I don't blame anyone for willing to know if we are alone in the Universe, and it's certain that we are not, because it would've been useless billions and trillions of light years of matter for a single planet with life on it.
As a people, we need to find ourselves here, to improve peace and to multiply/ consume/ eploit and LEARN within a pre-established equillibrium... A "chapter" which the writers of the Bible missed.
