Default Things for Avatar universe that I imagine

Many things, thoughts and imaginings about Avatar are around my head, about its story, its characters, its content, its messages, its elements, its components, its universe, etc.. (among many other things, of course), and many of these imaginings of Avatar are more elements, components, characters, places, stories, etc. that I have created and that would fit nicely in Avatar universe and could be added there. Some of these things are ordered in lists of things that are in Pandora (animals, plants, weapons, vehicles, features Na'vi etc.), and now I am going to present some of them, with brief descriptions:

Pandoran Fauna
- Brute: Similar to gorilla, but much larger and with four arms, which is common in all the land animals of Pandora.
- Nookhunter: A kind of mix between velociraptor and chameleon.
- Behemoth: Similar to the Tyrannosaurus rex and his kind, with spikes in various parts of its body as a defense mechanism.
- Bloodmaker: Similar to the bear and very dangerous, violent and bloodthirsty.
- Iguanodragon: Similar to the Iguanodon (a dinosaur species), and also called dragon because he can spit balls of gas, thanks to gastric juices that form when he eats anything.
- Banshees and Great Leonopteryx which can fly in space and spit fire or plasma balls, thanks to a miracle made by Eywa. They are ideal for space battles between the Na'vi and the RDA.

RDA Vehicles
- Grizzly: The typical armored tank with a huge cannon and machine guns at their sides.
- Griffin: The fighter plane or jet. It is capable of flying both inside a planet and in space, so it also serves as a space fighter ship.

RDA Weapons
- A rocket launcher
- A sniper rifle
- A laser beam

Na'vi Weapons
- Swords of stone or hard glass
- Tomahawks
- Crossbows
- Fire weapons similar to human's that can manufacture a specific Na'vi clan, having studied from humans and their weapons. Examples: A kind of assault rifle, a kind of rocket launchers, grenades species, etc. All made with Pandoran organic matter.
- Magic staffs used by shamans to combat

Pandoran tree types
- A special tree that can transport the Na'vi to other planets by teleportation, a good way to travel around the universe for the Na'vi.
- A special tree that can make Na'vi weapons take a plasma aspect, to look like alien weapon lasers. And with that aspect of plasma, Na'vi weapons are more powerful and effective.

And many much more things, some of them within these groups...
If you want, I can explain more things about these imagined things, so I thought well developped and extense descriptions for these things.

Another thing I imagine is about Avatar universe stories: I always imagine that many other alien races come to Pandora, some come to know and enjoy its beauty and others to do the same as humans: to exploit Pandora for extract unobtanium. The Na'vi teach their culture to the kindest and become their friends, and fight against the evil aliens that want to destroy their world.

I have imagined a lot of more things, but these are which I think more often. Also another people can imagine what I imagine, interpreting it differently or the same, and even can imagine and add more things. Another time, I can imagine and create too more things and stories, as James Cameron also can imagine, create and introduce more things and stories in new Avatar movies and related things, which can inspire me for making more of my things. Besides, some of these things and more can be already in Avatar universe; in movies, videogames, books, etc. One thing that I am convinced is that all this enriches my mind and that is another of the many things I like about Avatar, somewhat increasing my love for it, and that I can use and express it in Avatar fan-fictions.

These things I've imagined have arisen in part because of many concepts, words and terms that appear in the film, in books, in the videogame, in the Pandorapedia, in most of its merchandising and in everywhere related with Avatar, because these things are mentioned as possible things in Avatar universe, make me do admire Avatar more and have served as a basis for thinking and imagining all those things.

That's some nice stuff, although I think that you may have stepped on Anne McCaffery's toes with the fire spitting space flying ayikran.

It's directly mentioned that there are no tanks specifically because it isn't a military operation (and tanks in dense forest is a bad idea anyway, logistically and tactically) and that the dense atmosphere would cause problems for conventional aircraft (more lift, but much higher drag and power loss). I'm really not seeing the 'space battle' thing at all - the ISV is designed to get efficiency out of its engines and has no shields or armour; there is only one known spacefaring race and a degree of unification that, while perhaps not complete, is sufficient to prevent intra-humanity conflicts from escalating to space.

The more conventional Na'vi weapons are somewhat plausible, although a sword as a specific device took hundreds of years of refinement in metalworking on Earth, spears, axes and polearms would perhaps be more likely - crossbows are an interesting one as they were enabled largely by metalworking, but exotic materials on Pandora might make them possible. The things that really wouldn't fit are magic/teleportation or assault rifles.

Other alien species (not from Pandora) is an interesting point, but given the technological background of Avatar (no FTL), it would be too difficult to do in a plausible way, and quite possibly be a distraction from the message being about humanity.

On the other hand, if anyone can do it, it would be James Cameron, and perhapos they could be used to further the same theme after all if they faced the same problems as humans and overcame them, which is implied in The Abyss to some degree.

I didn't notice that. I present my apologizes for Anne MacCaffery if I plagiarized her idea.

Thanks for your advices. I understand it. But you know, I have a very big and creative mind for science fiction and fantasy and with that ideas I thought I could enjoy Avatar a bit more. If these ideas could be added to the Avatar universe, there could be many manners and explainings to make them adequate for it.

Well, they don't have magic wands like Harry Potter and the current wizards. I'm talking about sticks made with Pandora wood that can take magical powers thanks to Eywa, I imagine. There are other fantastic movies where there are shamans who have magic sticks, and I thought Avatar could be perfect to have that aspect, among the many others it has. I will change the word "sticks" for the word "staffs".

All this speculation about the magic stuff heavily depends on what you believe Eywa is and what she/it is capable of. If half this stuff were incorporated into Avatar, I'd be thoroughly disappointed but it is certainly imaginative.

Fauna and flora stuff are nice, but...

I don't want tanks, combat aircraft, I don't want war on Pandora. At least that should be a peaceful place with no wars like here, back "home". Eywa isn't magic, Eywa is a god, a living proof of a strong power on Pandora, like is mother Nature on Earth. Once cut, a tree can't act like a synapse anymore, it is DEAD. So your stick would be useless and won't be magic.

All these being spoken, work on a relevant scenario inspired by Avatar and tell a story. Publish it or send it directly to Jim and see what he thinks about your story and your continuation of Avatar. You have enough time from now on, until and after the 2nd movie will release.

The truth is I was thinking exactly on what is Eywa capable of. If you don't like it, there's no need to incoporate it.

I appreciate you like my fauna. If I tell you the truth, I think too there should be places like Pandora where war and evil don't exist. Pandora is much better without wars.

Tanks and aircrafts could be used for humans for destroy Pandora, what they do usually. I've introduced them due to the action sequences of war in Avatar and its story of the war between the RDA and the Na'vi. Certainly that war and the sequence of war is one reason of many others why I love Avatar.
I said that things about Eywa because I saw in Pandora a true magical world where anything is possible, and where is a goddess like Eywa who can do anything, like some miracles.

These are only imagined things that don't need to appear in Avatar universe, and I will only use that in my fan-fictions, but I don't want to show these ideas to James Cameron and force him to publish it in his Avatar movies.

I'm gonna make a note for all of you, for all who have replied this thread.

Some people don't agree these ideas because they see them as non-sense ideas and wrong and ridiculous ideas for Avatar universe, or that ideas don't fit in that universe.
I'm not saying I'm upset fot that, don't worry. I understand you. I don't blame you for hating these ideas.
Others somewhat have agreed but they see some impossibilities and mistakes on these ideas.
And everyone could interpret these ideas and their opinion at his own way.

But I want to tell you, I love Avatar the way it's already done, ok? But with these ideas I thought I could enjoy Avatar a bit more. On these ideas, I saw their point of sense which I think it could let them to be possible and exist in Avatar universe, across various events, terms and concepts that I saw in many things that belong to Avatar universe, and somewhat in the same movie. And I had to think a lot about all their features and their story, to give sense to them.

And you know, I felt a need to tell my ideas to some Avatar fan or geek, maybe from the various Avatar forums where I am member.

However, these ideas don't have need to appear in Avatar universe, and I there's no need to show them to James Cameron to use them in his Avatar movies, and I don't want to do it. I only want to use these ideas for my Avatar fan-fictions, and certainly I've imagined these things only for that and because I'm such a big fan of science fiction, action and fantasy and I have a big mind for that.

And I'm sorry if someone felt insulted with these ideas, and if someone thought I have profaned and insulted too to James Cameron, to his Avatar movie and all it represents, to Pandora, to Eywa, to the Na'vi and their culture, and probably to other people and other things, with these ideas.

That's fine, sorry if I came across that way. As Moco said, the whole magic thing in particular really depends how you interpret things - I don't see it as magical at all, but I know some people do.

On the other hand, I've never been much of a fan of 'war film' stuff being proposed - there's a difference between a film with well-done action scenes but an overarching plot and message and another Michael Bay / JJ Abrams 'all action and no plot' film.
