Default I'm A Little Nervous, A Little Worried, But...

I am a little nervous and a little worried about what is happening around here... I know this has been brought up a couple times, and each time I read posts like this it makes me sad, because it makes it seem like people will just up and leave, and the next thing we know its just a few of us here... I don't want that to happen... I still have a fire for Avatar, and I still want to talk about it, I think that people are losing their fire because Avatar is out of a vast majority of theaters, and there's no DVD, so they have nothing to fuel that fire, so they slowly sink back into how they were living before Avatar. I can't go back to that life... Avatar has made me so happy (even if PAD did slip in), improved my life, gave me hope for things of the future... I can't let that go just like that! I can't just let one of the greatest highlights of my life just disappear. But the point I'm trying to get at is that even though things may look a little dark and unsure, I still have hope... I hope for the future for a few reasons...

1) The Avatar DVD will come out, people who didn't see it may finally decide to see it and it may change them like it did us and they go looking for people just like them

2) People who left may see it and it may fuel their fire again

3) we have the special edition DVD coming in November, and it'll spark new discussions and conversations

4) Obviously Avatar 2 will be released and it may seem like a ways off, and if some people do take a break till then, I'm sure JC will bring his game face with it and hopefully peoples eyes will be opened and old viewers will return

I'm not budging, I know that moderators are here, and other dedicated people will be here as well... I still have hope for our future.

I posted a response to this problem on the other thread "can you bare the thought of leaving". I'm not sure what you guys would think. Please read it (I won't copy paste it here). Overall though, I think that the "problem" will actually be the root to making this community stronger. The only thing is Avatar won't be there so much....

Can you bare the thought of leaving?

I will never sink into the way i was.(see status) I (now) respect our world too much to continue the greedy lifestyle i had.

I don't think i will ever forget the friends i made here.
And since sometime in january, it has been my personal goal to not loave the forums.

We are still actively gaining new posters, and not really losing much. There will be an explosion of activity when the DVD/blu-ray comes out in a couple days. Also, we are really just starting to be picked up in Google, etc, and with the addition of vbSEO we are quickly showing up in a lot of searches. This will bring new people, both good and bad.

That's the technical side of the answer. The important side of the answer is that I really don't see this community of ours splintering. Everyone is too heavily invested in it and almost really dependent on it. The fire of Avatar, as you put it, is still as bright as ever within me, and I can't imagine a time when it won't be. The crippling PAD is mostly gone, but the connection is no less powerful.

I'll just repeat what I said in the previous thread:
I am in this for the long term. I will always be here. ToS will.

Other than that, what zongtseng said is almost exactly what I was going to say.

I'm dependent, not just on Avatar, but on here, on everyone... I would be completely lost otherwise. I know there are so many people, and as time goes on, we will become stronger, as more people are awakened.

Aww..thank you HNM. I'm not going anywhere. I also would like to talk about Avatar, specifically the symbolism and the mythology that is in it. That is what fascinates me. Meanwhile, since there is little to talk about on the Avatar front, we are getting to know everyone on this board in other ways weather it is debating, talking about our deepest held beliefs, our favorite music and other movies, etc. That is why this forum is so enjoyable and why I'm not going anywhere either .

Yea. I this community isn't going anywhere. Something I was trying to get to in some of my last posts, on this topic, is that this community goes far beyond Avatar. Even if everyone loses interest in the movie, the community will always remain. And just because the number of posts is dying down a bit is nothing to fear. Just remember that the original reason many people came into this community was because they were looking to get rid of PAD so they could continue living their life. So now people don't have PAD, and are moving on with their lives. There is always talk of changing lives and becoming more active with the environment etc. Now people are doing that, and naturally they don't have time to post 100 posts a day on "Avatar Funnies" and stuff like that. The decline in number of posts is really a good thing. It means people are moving on. Not to forget this community though, but actually doing the good they've talked about for so long. Just as long as people stop by and say hello, this community is golden for the long run. So I think there's no reason to worry. Just pledge that you will always come back for a quick chat time to time - which it seems everyone has.

Yes indeed this site, and the overall community isn't going anywhere but foward.
Cheers.

I have noticed the loss of activity in both forums but it will return sooner or later.

I don't post as much as I used to but still check the forums on a daily basis. I still feel the Avatar fire burning in me and still feel the need to be active in Avatar related things, such as reading fan fics, the forums, and soon the Blu-ray. I hope that the fire will never burn out in me as it is such a great feeling knowing that there is something so great as these forums and the people in them that have such a great connection with each other, their positive ideas, as well as an inspiring movie.

I will always try to always read and contribute to these forums any way I can.
