Default Crying out of the system of studying

Endless it all is, i can't bare the thought of cramming my head anymore, all i want to do is adventure and release myself into the world, not be held back by the frequent tests that demand us to be sponges abosorbing everything, becoming uniform and the same, well lets throw the sponge back, all this work is mounting and all this studying is hurting, all i want is peace and serenity, studying kills the mind into a logical thinking machine, i want to make decisions for myself sometimes, i want to be original and different. There is only soo much you can process when you have endless subjects on the go at the same time, doodling my thoughts and images in my book is considered an offence, even though i can multi task, individuality is a sin in school time.

All that work and studying is preparing you for life. Whether you like it or not, you're probably going to become part of the workforce in some manner. All you can do is study hard and do well, so maybe you can get a good enough college that helps you to get into a job where you will have enough power to make a difference. That's not to say that you can't make a difference with a smaller job however.

I see lots of people who talk about how the government is forcing us to conform and that we are all sheeple. I don't know about you, but I feel damn free. I can express myself in any way I want as long as it's within the law(and laws are there to protect you, for the most part *pot laws not included*).

I'm sure you can make plenty of decisions for yourself, you're just exaggerating. Don't take this an an attack, it's far from it, but if you want to stay happy during your years in highschool (and hopefully college) and in your future jobs, you just need to remember that what you're doing is best for you, and if you think you will make a difference in humanity, it's best for everyone.

That's completely welcome, i'm achieving all my grades, but the problem is that i'm soo assured of what i want to do in life, i want to get out there and do it now, which on closer inspection is a rather careless method when regarding the realness of life.

be a film director, or something along those lines, ambitious i know but the fact it is accesible through means that do not require any grades at all has most likely made me lazy, i realise you need to set yourself up good if all does not go to plan.

You're going to want to go to a good film school. You're going to need money to purchase all the equipment for filming, computers, cameras, programs, etc.

Not all directors got a full college education (IE, James Cameron) but in this day and age with jobs disappearing and becoming harder to find, I would recommend it so that you have a decent income.

Why, Cyan; we've got much more than I thought in common.

See, no one likes school (in fact we hate it), but what we're given there is culture. If I hadn't learnt to write and read I wouldn't be here. If I hadn't known about the book I would have missed a true life changing experience. If I hadn't learnt English I wouldn't have met any of you.

How that culture is given is a different issue; but trust me when I tell you that what we're being given right now is priceless.

Some things you learn are really important.. but some things - actually sometimes a majority of things, I will never EVER use later in life. And that's what makes me so sick of it. That being said, just because I will never use the knowledge, it doesn't mean nobody else in my class will.

I always considered my studies as a mean toward opening my mind to be more creative and original.

I feel like school is making me go insane. Crammed into rooms so that people older than us can turn us into the same thing. Na'vi society has no schools, but their culture is better than ours. They learn by doing, not by sitting down and reading out of a boring book. Being a kinetic learner isn't very good for classrooms, and i don't like half the classes.right now, i have learned more from working on something i like by myself than in a class.

Oel ngati kameie...

My course is worthless to me now. It's hard to even drag myself in every day. I just sit there in the lectures, and everything is so pointless. Last week I was in one on AI, when I realised, I had absolutely no idea what he was saying, and I started to feel sick with the pointlessness of it all, and I had to leave.
The ironic thing is, I have just about no interest in my course now, it's so completely futile, but it's the only thing I know, my only real skill.

I agree with Txum kali'weya, I've realised education is trying to turn everyone into clones. Drones of society with no individuality or thoughts of their own. The depressing thing is, is succeeds with so many people. We are the ones who saw through it, but we are far too few

When I finish university (thought about quitting but don't even have the ability to do that, in a way), I want to be free, not spend my life in some job I hate working for money that goes again straight away leaving me exactly where I started.

I want to be free...

Human No More, have you considered other options or different ways of living? I sympathize with everyone here. I completely understand how you feel. I've been feeling like this since I was a junior in high school...

HNM: I've been having the same feelings ever since I started my second year of my course..
With injuries forcing me to take time away from lectures as well I decided to freeze my studying and do it again the next year..My motivation has been stripped from me, and I needed a break.

All through my high school year, I kept telling myself, it will all be different soon and it was. Just hang in there, keep your grades up and do your best... trust me I've been there. You may not agree with it, but if you want to achieve your goals its best to keep your grades up, like you've been doing. I'm lucky my eyes have been opened to Avatar after high school, otherwise things would be very very very different for me now. In the trade school I'm going to all I have to do is go to school for about 6 1/2 hours a day, and I love it there because its what I want to do, it's something I love. And Colonel/Cyan, you said you wanted to become a film director, thats amazing. I loved film; I've made lots of movies, even won a few awards at school film festivals including Best Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Overall Film (sorry I had to brag for a second). I wanted to become a movie director at my career, but alas, things were very expensive if I wanted to up my movies; cameras that cost a few thousand, new computers with expensive editing software and special effects programs, the microphones, cables, cast and crew... so I went to the automotive industry to have a very good income and on the side be an independent film maker, and maybe later on in my life become a professional movie director. Not saying this to affect your career decision, but I was somewhat on the same boat as you. If you film a movie let me know, I'll help you out

But like I said, hang in there, keep your head up, and soon you'll be doing what you love
