Default Toughts after an iPod-less period...

After knowing the cause of my eyesore was the little screen of my iPod Touch I used for checking the forums via Tapatalk, I decided to leave it somewhere for two days. Just there, shut and hidden by a relative so I wouldn't go and pick it up whenever I felt like.

The first day was kind of strange, since I am a music addict and was feeling like I really needed the iPod, but anyway the day passed by. I tried to fill in the empty (in fact, quiet) time with some reading or drawing: I was also trying to avoid the PC and the TV as much as I was able to because of the worry about my eyesight.

The next day (yesterday) I decided to take an eye test and the optician told me I had perfect vision, but I should be careful on being too much time at the computer. And yesterday was pretty much the same as the other day, no iPod and few time at ToS. Reading books and trying to get some work done.

So I finally decided to bring it back to its place: my coat's right inside pocket. When I picked it up, with its screen black, I said myself "Hey, was just this what I'd been missing all these days?". It was like a shiny stone, cold. I hadn't had any need of it anymore.

Anyway I turned it on once again and put the headphones back to my ears.

So, what can I say?

I feel we can make a living without most of the things we use in our day-by-day. 50 years ago nobody used a computer at their work, and now is a must. And (at least here, in Spain) when the first TV emissions were made and until late 60's, there were only two channels that offered six hours a day of TV.

I think we can do without all these screens and machines we use everyday.

Well, perhaps not all of them.

But most of them.

wow, well I use my iPhone for practically everything. I've gotten so used to being connected to anything and everything, I'm not sure how it would feel without it. Even when I go camping i use it as a camera and compass. Is this bad?

I need my itouch to give me alarms if I plan on making new schedules. I could go without music for a little bit myself. I usually got hymns and drinking songs stuck in my head for 365 days. I enjoy silence but after a month or two, I'm usually in a desperate need of conversation, or a song to cheer me up.

You can only motivate yourself for so long I take it. Either that or I'm mentally weak .

I'd probably go insane without an ipod of some sort to listen to music on, however I don't have one with internet capabilities.

You know thats a great story ma tsmukan! I was thinking about this the other day as well and got a mixed signal from my brain... I was crusing on my way to college the other day, windows down, sunroof open, music cranked (I too am a music addict) just enjoying the nice summer breeze and the sun and enjoying some good tunes when I passed a guy waiting for a signal with his headphones on, and I thought, "is this what we've gone too? People walking around always plugged in?" but then I thought, "what if I was that kid?" I came to the conclusion easy I too would be listening to my iPod. "Why?" because its my escape. Music is my portal to another world; another life. Techno/trance/electronic/dubstep/house/rave, they're all portals to something, something soothing and calming, me on a beach enjoying a sunset with Neytiri, upbeat music for me to dance to at a rave or party, enjoying the lights and the music in my soul, let it flow through my veins. Don't get me wrong, taking the time to not listen to music is a beautiful thing as well, taking a walk through a park or hiking. Sometimes people tell me, "your an empty self" and I simply reply, "no I've got a different outlook on things than you do... I'm not you. You've got your ideas, I have mine." I too learned when to use my iPod and when not to, like taking a bike ride I'd always use to have it, then one day it broke and I didn't have one and when I went on a ride it was different, and I liked it great experience thanks for sharing ma tsmukan!

And nowadays, it's pretty much impossible to get by without a computer... then where else would I go to talk to all you?

I don't have an ipod or anything even similar...earphones hurt my ears. I do sometimes wish I could listen to music outside, but I make do...I sing to myself. (Although it doesn't work so well when an infuriating song is stuck in my head )

I, too, HAVE to listen to music when I go out (or even when I'm inside!). Its very important for me to have my cellphone with me (Plays my music) when I go out. I am also hopelessly addicted to the computer. But what can I say? These technologies are how we bond and connect. And the music sounds way better than trains, cars, buses, and people shouting.

I have my keys in my left pocket, wallet in my back pocket, and iPhone in my right pocket. Whenever I'm missing one everything feels a little off. It's worse with my watch though because I literally haven't taken it off in years (other then when I am wearing a suit or tux), so when it is off for those brief periods of time I feel almost naked without it.

I have an iPhone and two other iPods.

I take my iPhone EVERYWHERE. Anywhere I go, my iPhone comes with me. I love being "connected" all the time and talking with friends etc. I even go on ToS on my iPhone so I'm always on here too!

Without my iPhone I would go crazy I think. I hardly listen to music on it, only when on car rides do I ever listen to music from my iPhone or iPod. I like to blast music at home where it sounds better.

If I didn't have my computer I would probably go insane and sit in a corner talking to myself.
