Default Basic instinct ;) woooop

most animals are born with an instinctive mindset, such as sea turtles returning to their parents; but they are not taught how, they are born knowing.

so what is the human instinct?

that, i think, seems not be an instinct, but just a personality. because i know a lot of people who do not care about seeking the unknown, anything but. they reject learning unless it is something they are interested in. whereas some people just love learning.

would morals be an instinct i wonder? we may do something which is bad but we feel bad after. unless you are mentally unstable. i dunno. thats a good answer fighter of wars. keep em coming

To create chaos? When you think about it, the human brain is the ultimate random number generator. And everything you do increases the entropy of the universe.

To survive. That's humanity's most basic instinct, yet the entire world revolves around this mindset.

I agree. It appears that instinct centers on the necessity of survival, especially at a young age.

I don't think morals are a product of instinct directly, but rather stem from our social nature.

anything that lives has an understanding that it needs to survive. but most animals have an added instinct that cuts out the learning process. maybe we dont have that. or we ignore it. i really dont know, everybody is different in so many ways.

I agree... To survive. There is much more which is very deeply ingrained in human nature, but isn't actually instinct. Humanity's main distinctive trait has been adaptability, compared to other animals.

I would also agree that our instinct is to survive...or at least it used to be. However, I think that instinct is slowly degrading and giving way to the instinct to consume whatever we can get our hands on. Think about it; people consume and consume, but to no end. They don't even think about it anymore; they just do it.

I think the instinct is there, but that it offers little utility today due to the advancement of our society. Modern society today has greatly reduced the rate of death in childhood and has raised life expectancy considerably over the last century or two.
