Default Profound Moments

I wanted to share this with everyone as I keep having moments in my life and when I dream which give me a real sense of understanding and appreciation for being alive.

One example I had was when I was dreaming recently. I was walking along a busy beach, the waves were really roaring in but not in any way menacing. Lots of people were in this clear, warm water enjoying the waves. As I stepped into the water I could feel the warmth and see straight through to the sea floor. The water was chest deep and as I waded through I had a profound moment where I watched the waves and realised that my mind had created this beautiful scene which was so life-like. Each crest of every wave flowed so naturally and with this I appreciated that even though I have times where I ponder the meaning of life, the realisation that I was dreaming and had created this scene made me feel so alive. Upon awakening I wondered to myself why moments like this in my dreams don't send me lucid. I still can't understand why.

I also have similar moments in waking life, where I have looked at the night sky and have been truly overwhelmed by the beauty of life and the realisation that I am tiny in the vastness of things but not necessarily insignificant. Sometimes just watching the branches of trees blowing in the wind gives me great satisfaction.

Does anyone else feel these things? I sometimes feel isolated from most people whom I know in my day to day life. Like they blindly go through life without ever contemplating these things. I don't want to sound pretentious or elitist in anyway. I suppose I just want to feel that I'm not on my own in how I feel.

I can't say if it happens in my dreams, because unfortunately I rarely remember them at all in the morning when I awake. Now in my waking life I have these moments with increasing frequency as the years go by. It primarily happens when I'm out in nature. Some how sitting in my cube at work doesn't engender these kind of emotions or realizations as often.

I think this is what the "new age" calls awakening to the higher dimensions. Keep at it as in my experience there is more to what you have found. It's kind of like a ladder and I've found more than one step. I really don't ascribe these things like how many newagers throw around things like higher dimensionality, as to me dimension is more of a physics thing than a mental one. I guess it does give a way to talk about it though. One thing I can go with is what you are experiencing is "becoming a source of light."

Perhaps it is part of learning to see.

I often have these sorts of moments now. It usually happens when I'm out in a forest or somewhere equally beautiful. I recently woke up one day, pulled back the curtains and was greeted with clear blue sky, dazzling sunshine and green trees standing tall over the houses. Had it not been for the roads and houses I could have sworn I was on Pandora. It's moments like that I live for and I was so thankful for the experience, however short.

Beautiful post Muia. I've had similar experiences and they are becoming more and more frequent. They are hard to describe, but I just feel at home in my heart and all fear, sadness and stress disappear, allowing a moment of pure bliss to enter.

No Mula, you are not alone! That state, those experiences, dreaming or waking are a reflection of your inner deep spiritual self connected to the even deeper spiritual essence of the 'All'. It is indeed a profound and beautiful awareness when we have them. At those moments I think for myself that I find that is when I am closest to my 'truest' or highest self, and those are the moments that I wish others would experience more often, because its that awareness that 'breaks' down the feeling of separateness that we create with our 'masked' selves and in those moments when we are feeling a "oneness" with "All That Is" that would heal so much in the world!

It is those moments I define by my quote in my signature!

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful description!

What this world really needs is more artists and environmentalists!

"Its only 'here' that we lose perspective, out at the Cosmic Consciousness Level things get a lot clearer. For example, there is an actual star pattern that is traced in the shape of a Willow Tree, across the breadth of the Milky Way! And no wonder Indigenous peoples refer to the 'here after' as the Happy Hunting Grounds! Has it ever occured to anyone why the bioluminescence dots, on the Na'vi!"

Yes, you're most certainly not alone in these feelings.

Especially the 'looking up at the sky' one. Whilst it makes you feel so small in this universe, you then remember there are things that are also infintecimally smaller than you are.

It almost feels as if the living things on this planet are the crucial tie between the macro and the micro.

Thanks for the compliment Caveman, I just type what I feel and I don't really have anyone who understands this to talk to about it so the ToS community gets to read if they want.

I have remembered another instance I had this sensation when I was dreaming. I think it was more to do with being lucid in my dream but its hard to explain how good the sensation felt. I was flying over a landscape, the landscape reminds me somewhat of mars, with deep red cliffs and sandy regions with boulders scattered all around. I was flying towards a group of buildings which I was surprised I had created with my subconscious. They were tall, narrow buildings with a dark colouring to them but they didn't seem out of place. I just remember it all looking so vibrant, like my colour saturation had become heightened and the same sensation of awe came over me. I do try to lucid dream but I find I'm better just becoming lucid randomly.

Sometimes, if I'm in a hurry I may run to my car and the sensation of running and doing it so naturally puts me in the same mindset. I even do it when I'm driving home from work in the car and the clouds look particularly beautiful. Then I think of everyone else in their cars in rush hour and wondering if anyone else feels the same. I think I think too much! I did it again! I think its time for me to go to bed, and hopefully lucid dream...
