Default I want Portal 2.

Guys, I need your help.
My parents are too mean to buy me Portal 2, and I really really really want it.
People are taunting me (not from ToS though) because I don't have it.

If you feel sorry for me, maybe you could donate?
Every little bit helps, even if it's only $1.

I will not help you succumb to peer pressure by sending you money through a pay-pal.

I'd like to help, but my birthday's in May, and I've got quite a few things planned, so I don't have any money at the moment. :/

^ same. And how does your parents not buying you a video game make them mean? If you think that's mean, I'll gladly switch places with you.

However, there are... *ahem* always other ways to get something, especially if its data...

Actually, I always get my games the other way first, and if they're good, i make a point to buy them when I have the monies.

I just bought Portal 2 today. Another example of the *ahem* gray area making the piracy victim money in the end.

The argument goes like this:
  1. I'm not rich enough to just walk up and buy it.
  2. I value my hard-earned money, and will spend it on a decent product.
  3. If the product sucks, I would've returned it anyway.
  4. If it's good, I shall buy it both to support the developer and to get stuff like downloadable and/or multiplayer.
  5. If I get the cracked version and it either sucks and I don't buy it or it's really good and I don't buy it because I have no money, either way the developer doesn't get my money. So why should it matter to the developer if I enjoy an experience and their potential/earned ratio is zero regardless of whether this consumer downloads and enjoys the product or doesn't?

Please keep the argument off this thread... The same goes for the oblique references to you-know-what (the latter is important to protect ToS).
