Sigh... Yeah. I'm not a big fan of this "<adjective> Movie" series.

It really needed to be Mel Brooks doing this. I loved Star Wars AND Spaceballs. Really, Mel needs to do Yogurt's promised "Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money" and include some Avatar themes. I'd totally watch it.

Ah well, was kind of inevitable at some point, I guess.

Ha. They're bringing themselves into even more of a failure. That's what you get for trolling good movies.

With the exception of Spaceballs, spoof movies almost always suck. This one should prove no different.

But I don't know why people even bother with this type of movie. They always show the funniest scenes in the previews, so why sit through the rest of the movie?

Mllte. Spaceballs was hilarious, both as a parody and a film in its own right, but I have never seen another honestly good parody, unless you count Galaxy Quest, which IMHO is FAR closer to an original film.

As for Vampires, I wonder why... Could it possibly because the vast majority of people anywhere hate Twilight , and so it's not something people will complain about? (as it is, I have near-zero interest in most vampire genre stuff, including the parody).

I can say the very same about Avatar. It is a fact that there is also a big majority of people in this world who REALLY dislike Avatar. Wherever I go there is always people who hate Avatar. So why should Avatar be considered as an exception for these kind of movies? Just because we like it? C'mon, be real now. We all know that Avatar has taken a lot of **** in the past (probably will in the future too), just like Twilight , and I ain't seeing them bitching about it.

Btw, I have never ever even seen Twilight or Vampires Suck in the first place, so it's not like I'm going personal on this or anything.

Hmm, well, a lot (read; most) people like Twilight because "like, oh my god, Edawrd is sooooo hot" and all that, the story doesn't actually carry any kind of significance to them, it's just basically a fantasy, rather than something they cae about, something that drives them.

As you would have probably guessed by now, there are a lot of people here who find Avatar is not just a fantasy, but a guidance, an ideal even, and when those ideals come under attack, made fun of... they are naturally going to respond with negativity. I have to say, I don't blame them.

Now, maybe some people DO see Twilight the way some people here see Avatar, but I personally highly doubt it. And I can guarantee that somewhere, there has been some bitching about the twilight parody films.

A BAD fantasy - yes, lets just teach young girls that if a guy goes and OILS YOUR WINDOWS TO CREEP INTO YOUR ROOM AND WATCH YOU SLEEP, it's true love and you should marry him. *scowls at Twilight and all its kind*

Can we just...bring back vampires to being creepy monsters, please. They were FUN when they were cannibalistic sociopaths.

Anyway.

Not terribly surprised about the parody, although I do dislike the parodies as a genre. It's big, it's popular, it's rapidly becoming back of pop-culture - of course it's going to be mocked. Nothing wrong with that - after all, no one is forcing us to go and see it.

Actually, a big minority. The majority of people who've seen it like it - I know from personal experience that most people who claim to dislike it are just being hipsters (oh, the irony when so many of those people completely hate hipsters too ), and would have liked it if they didn't end up expected to dislike it because it did well, and have even privately said they like it, which completely contradicts outer claims.

I honestly just have no interest in vampire fiction - I've read a bit about Twilight etc. and there are huge and convincing arguments for why it is awful, even if I would reserve direct judgement having not read or watched it firsthand I can say that both based on the quality itself and its genre, I would not expect to like it, particularly since even well written vampire fiction just doesn't hold any interest for me. I don't like parodies of things that I dislike - as I said before, the parodies that I found funny were Spaceballs and Galaxy Quest (which is partly parody but far closer to an original), both of which were parodies done by people who LIKE the subject (an affectionate parody), and not by people with a history of churning out crappy films on things that they claim to dislike.
A parody that is done by someone who hates the original like that abrams thing is a completely different story.

$2 billion gross profit. Can't argue with that bitches!

As for this parody, Scary Movie was funny, but as they make more and more they seem less and less funny. So yah this probably will not be funny.

Minus Spaceballs and Not Another Teen Movie, I hate these parody things. I don't get why anyone wants to see these. If I'm going to make fun of a movie I'd rather see MST3K or RiffTrax. For the record Rifftrax has one for Avatar, but I haven't checked it out.

*Sigh*

More fuel for the hater fires.

I knew this was coming, but was sort of hoping it wasn't going to show up anyway.

I didn't hear anybody complaining about Vampires Suck... I wonder why... yet you all say you hate these kind of movies.

Anyway, I will actually look forward seeing this movie.
