Default James Cameron's new sci-fi documentary

AMC has approved a six-episode documentary series from James Cameron about how the science fiction genre has changed over time, as well as how it’s changed us.

The show, called James Cameron’s Story of Science Fiction, will debut in 2018. Each episode will feature Cameron diving into one of the “big questions” that humanity has explored through science fiction movies and TV shows, like dependence on technology, space exploration and colonialism, and how to comprehend alien life (I’m suggesting these themes myself, James call me). He and others will break down each issue, how it’s been covered in scifi, and where they see the discussion moving forward.

It could be delayed and cost a billion dollars to produce and 30 years to direct, lol. I mean the way Cameron prepares and releases projects you’d think that Cameron thinks he’s gonna live forever.
Honestly it's not wrong. When you think about it he has many projects, such as Toruk, the Avatar Exhibition, Alita: Battle Angel (which is in the FILMING stage) and the upcoming Avatar movies. What are his priorities?

It's very possible James Cameron doesn't actually want to make Avatar 2, but he was basically forced to do it or risk have someone else taking over the franchise and ruining it. I mean, where does Avatar even go from here? The humans left to go back to their dying world (a deleted scene's words, not mine), Jake's mind is permanently in his Avatar body. The good guys live happily ever after. Where is there left to go, story wise?

To be fair I feel he has different levels of involvement with his projects. Toruk and the Avatar Exhibition I think he is just leading, giving advice and giving final sign off more than anything else.

Even if he gives advice and leads, I don't think his job consists of stamping ''approved'' or ''denied'' on the documents that come in his office. He probably wants to check a lot.

i read somewhere that JC is not too keen on the idea of competing with the Star Wars crowd and is basically waiting til 2020 to screen the first of the sequels, as both SW Episodes 8 and 9 will be out of theaters by then. geez.

if you want to see how big the SW impact is, just look at Passengers trying to compete with Rogue One. no contest and so not fair. the $110 million budget Passengers is a beautiful film, amazing sets and visuals, one of a kind starship, great script and story, beautiful acting by both lead actors, but it couldn't stand up to the rabid fanboys of SW. because i believe Disney paid off most of the mainstream 'critic/reviewers' to trash Passengers (Sony-Columbia) so there would be no competition to their precious SWRO, i refuse to watch it at the theater. i have seen Passengers twice now and it is even better the second time. i think JC is hedging his bets against SW and getting his other projects done before heading back to Pandora.

we shall see...
