Default Fill the void

I attempted to write this thread several times, but never knew how to begin it.

So, first of all, Avatar was like a mirror to me. After watching the film for the first time, the following days I experienced something shocking. I want to believe that I Saw myself, you know; like I really knew what was going on my life, both wrong and right things. Since then I decided to follow the message it got and work, dedicate my life to become a better person and make this a better world for everyone. Hence why I posted the "Making Earth become a new Pandora" or began the Veritas project.

However, I felt bad: PAD. I knew deep inside that no matter how hard I worked, this wasn't ever going to be Pandora or anything close to it. That made me fell into a depressive mood that still lingers on.

As I looked around me, and just saw everything I didn't want. Even on myself. The mirror Avatar had become to me turned eventually something that hurt me. And it was then when I realized that my work was little and slow, and that it was likely for me to never finish it and see what I wanted to see.

The void appeared. Because I just saw in everything I had around me emptiness, isolation and nonsensical hate, and had nothing to where to hold on except of Pandora.

Until a few days ago, and thanks to the help from all the ToS community (specially rapunzel), I began to get over it.

But I still have the facts in front of me. I thought I should begin to work again for the change (although I'm still doubting). But how? How to fill the void Avatar leaves? How to look face to face to what surrounds us, and make something worthy with it?

How to make this world worth living?

You know my thoughts on this from the PM's. Start slow. I know that is difficult because one wants to get to their goal at once. However, that which you seek is truly golden and precious and rare. The rarest of treasures cannot be had without pain and sacrifice. Without a long, arduous journey. Know that you are not the only one on this path. There are others. We all want to strive to be better, more devoted, and more loving people. It is very difficult in this world of ours. Yet, we must also see the good in this world, even if it is the smallest thing like a tiny flower, a small squirrel, a baby's smile.

The key is to will yourself to be better even when everything seems to be crashing around you. I know that this is easier said than done. Trials will come and pain will always be there. If it is done out of love, the rewards will be sweeter.

Pandora will probably never be here exactly. However, I think that Pandora is in a sense a metaphor, a vision of paradise, of heaven, of the Elyisum fields, etc. It is what all of us yearn for. We all yearn for connection, for love, to belong. That is the message that Avatar brings. It sounds strange, but such a connection and such a love can only come through sacrifice and through pain. Why? It makes us aware that we can't do this on our own. That we need each other. That we are not invincible. That we are weak. However, together, we are stronger. To some, that means giving themselves to the care of deities, etc.

All of this will only come with one small step. It must be so. Such a journey, such a quest is to important to be done in haste. It takes time.

In this time in your life, and the lives of several of the younger people here, you are searching for yourself and your place in the world. It is a very exciting time. It can take years to find it. For me, it took most of my teens and twenties. In fact, I don't think that one ever truly stops their search for love, for connection, for truth, etc. People forget and at a certain time, they tend to slow it down. However, I have met "old" young people and "young" old people.

The more you love and give yourself to others through kindness, etc the clearer your search will be and perhaps the closer to filling in the void. Look with joy in the world around you even if nature seems to have left. She is still there. Look at the cracks in the sidewalk . The weeds always tend to show up. Nature cannot be kept out forever. There is still love and joy in the world although you have to look harder to find it.

All of this starts with you . Take a small step, day by day. That is all any of us can do.

Rapunzel is very true and his/her points should be taken to heart.

I will also give you some advice.

As said before, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step" and many times the trip will only be accomplished with small steps but at times it can be with leaps and bounds but if you never take that first step or stop the trip will never be accomplished. There will be mountains to climb over, valleys to trudge through and rivers to swim across, and sometimes you will stumble and fall but always get back up and keep going. When you finally reach your end goal you look back at all the challenges you conquered, all the times you got back up and you realize what you have accomplished and that all the troubles only made you stronger.

What I'm trying to say is if you keep your head up, heart in the right direction, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. So never give up.

The way to fill the void that Avatar leaves in each and everyone of us has to be filled a different way with each person. But do what you think is right in your heart, what you know in your mind is best thing to do, and what makes you feel good and everything will come out right in the end.

The way I look at my surroundings is to see the beauty in it, there is ugliness in what people try to put on the land but there is beauty tucked away somewhere, a birdnest in a crook under the gutter, a squirrel on the roof, a anthill beside the sidewalk, geese flying in the sky. This is the way I look at life and my surroundings and it helps me a lot, but as I said before, the best thing would be to find what works the best for you.

What advice I have given is a start, it works great for me but one must take it a step further and make it work in their life, and to their benefit.

I wish you luck in your pursuits and hope that what I have said will help, even if in an infinitesimal way.

I still haven't found anything really worth it... The only thing I do have is myself, and how lonely I am... I want to find my Neytiri, someone who Sees me, who I can spend my life with, but I just have no idea how to find her, or if she even exists...
Most of life is dead to me now... I just don't see the point.

Part of looking for your dream girl is starting by becoming a better man. It starts with yourself HNM. If you love more, you will have more love to give. She will know that whenever she comes. You possibly have more to give than you are willing to let on. Also, even though you feel like there is nothing worth living for, don't give up. There is. I know you don't see it now. You have to take small steps, one day at a time. That's all you can do.
