Is there any reason why they quoted us the rate of $120 if he website says $109?

Just curious (and cheap).

Yeah, I know. I've found that actual hotel cost never match their 'starting at' prices. Usually because they are the low season prices and we always end up going not at those times. Meh!

Irayo, Alan, for getting that info from the Holland Hotel in Jersey City. Well, from looking at their website, it looks like a decent enough hotel for us to stay at. Now we need to hear back from the LSC about the weekend in May and if they will be able to have a showing of Avatar for us. And...we need to know who else will be able to attend this possible mini-meet.

Irayo ma'eylan. Yeah it doesn't seem to bad a place to stay. Ifwe don't hear anything from the museum by Thursday I think I will drop them a line. We really need to know this week so flights and hotel can be booked etc.

I was thinking about camping out some where instead of renting a room. I would think a little bonding with our mother nature would make the weekend even more epic. We've been huddled up inside the apartment for months now due to winter season and it would be nice to get out there and enjoy the openness once again and top it off with the Avatar exhibition! I dunno if you guys wanna do the same but that's our plan.

Sounds interesting...you say '...that's our plan.' How many of you are there? Don't suppose you have enough to fill an cinema at all?

I think I'll contact the museum and plead our case for Avatar 3D on the last weekend of the exhibition...

Oh it was just something my girlfriend and I discussed in order to save some $$ and spend some time outdoors. Everyone I knew around here who liked avatar has moved on from the movie and wouldn't be interested in joining I bet.

Are there any places nearby where you could camp?

I haven't looked into that yet but will soon. I know there's campgrounds or parks around there.

There is a park area between the LSC and Hudson River... Hehehe. Sorry I'm not helping much, am I?

I'm going to contact the museum about having Avatar 3D shown on the last weekend of the exhibtion (18th-19th May). I suspect we may be waiting some time before they can decide if they are going to show it or not.

Soooo....

What say, we wait until Wednesday(?), and if no response we just say go for that weekend...and if they show Avatar 3D then it will be a bonus. At least we will get to all meet up and look at the exhibition as well as explore the place a little.

Any thoughts anyone?

Sounds good to me. Perhaps if they see that we're getting all of our stuff together maybe that will encourage them to do the same.

Yes, I agree!
Count me in.

And Irayo again, Alan, for keeping in contact with the LSC for us.

Well err. What dates do we want this to be? I'm guessing the weekend of 18/19th May? But do we want some days before to do a bit of sighte seeing and meet up things? So maybe from Wednesday onwards? Thoughts?

Just a bit of an update. I've had a reply from the museum:

Quote:
My apologize for the delay. We are planning on showing the film again, however the dates have not been finalized. I am hoping I will be able to give you a definitive answer by Tuesday of next week.
So hopefully next Tuesday we will know a bit more all being well.

Irayo, Alan, for sharing the latest response from the LSC. Yeah, hopefully they'll be able to let us know *soon* about when they'll be showing Avatar again. Keeping my fingers crossed it'll be for our meetup in May.

And speaking of that...personally, I'll only really need about 3 days for the meetup...so like from the Friday (May 17) to the Sunday (May 19) would work best for me. I wasn't really planning on doing much "sight-seeing" during that time...really just want to be there for the exhibit and hanging out at the LSC and surrounding area. I think I've done plenty of sight-seeing in NYC in recent years anyway, and I don't know if there's much to see in Jersey City per se.
