    Oh HELL YEAH! Hehehe

It looks to give stunning image quality at all levels from what you can make out on the videos. Maybe if I win the lottery, eh?

Get three! That lets you shoot in 4D, right?

Thanks for the link! Great video. The low light performance is just so cool. I love the idea of a camera that does available light well. Pity about the price, though. I've heard rumors that it'll be in the $13-14k range over here, owing to fewer taxes and whatnot on these kinds of things, but we'll see. Even then, I'd be mortgaging several over hobbies to get even one! But it would be awfully fun!

Hi Aaron Irayo for the link. Certainly unconventional camera review. Quite good actually. But I can see why Canon might not want it on public display...although they probably like it really I recognised some of the locations as places I was at last year when I came over.

I get a Canon newsletter and there was a link to the C300, which I thought you might be interested in:Canon Professional Network - French film director Pierre Deschamps is amazed by Canon

Over here is it in the region of £11,000...probably about $16,960!

So how many you getting? I was thinking of getting 2 as 3 might be pushing it!...

Yup. In fact, I've been watching his blog for C300- and Scarlet-related thoughts, and really enjoyed that review, as well as his "Christmas Shootout." If you haven't seen Jonathan Yi's C300 review video, you definitely need to see it also. Just don't watch it while drinking anything, as it might end up all over your computer screen and keyboard! Here it is: Canon EOS C300 = Awesome on Vimeo

I want one. Wish it had AF, but everything else is awesome. Here's hoping for a reasonable street price!! *not holding breath*

Nah, I'm sure it got here on time. I'm just horrible about checking my mailbox because there's so seldom anything in it!

Hey, glad you got it. Sorry it arrived late, although I did send it at the beginning of December. Guess there must be so many mailing systems it went through.

Glad you liked the piccie - had to be done. Although I think Neyney would spend a long time playing with the bell! Hahaha

Ha-haaa!! I love the card. Irayo, ma tsmukan, and another round of Merry Christmas to you! I seldom check my physical mailbox at work, and even then I'm surprised to see anything but the occasional corporate propaganda. When I saw the stamp on the envelope, I couldn't imagine what was inside! Then I had a good crack-up when I opened it. Too funny (I love that edit!). Irayo nìmun!

Nah...afraid I don't have a 3D TV...although I was toying with the idea of eventually getting a 3D monitor so I could progress my little challenge of making some 3D videos. But I have a bit to learn first.

If I do get one, I'd want to go for the passive glasses sort, rather than the active ones as the glasses cost a shed load and then you have to keep buying batteries and stuff - not a very environmentally friendly way to carry on.

I must admit I'm not all that clued up on codecs and stuff but what you say does seem to explain why yhe video footage I took of the Neyney statue has a ghosting edge when viewed through the anaglyph specs.

Have you got a 3D TV? I'm waiting for (hoping for) my kids to accidentally smash our old TV with a baseball bat or something so that I have an excuse to buy one. And, hopefully by that time, they'll be cheaper.

Regarding the 3D Blu-ray: Indeed. It's a slightly miserable process, and I worked very closely with the author of the SSIF splitter tools to fix bugs that were preventing the right-eye video from being usable in Adobe Premiere. I've now redone a bunch of 3D discs, mostly in black-and-white, then rendered out using the XDCAMHD 50 4:2:2 codec in Premiere. I've found that 4:2:2 makes an enormous difference with this stuff, since all the chroma contrast introduced by the anaglyph-izing is a pathological scenario for 4:2:0, and leads to a lot of nasty-looking edges. I've also discovered that MainConcept won't do 4:2:2, even when you choose that profile. What a PoJ! Thankfully, the MXF->XDCAM presets work very well.
