One was a girl from a horse-riding culture, and the other was a dragon. Alara the Dragon was telepathic and could shape-shift into a human, or any other creature of more or less similar size and intelligence.

Option 1. Find his post (any), click on his profile picture (in my case, it is a tsaheylu picture) - and you will go to his profile page. Then right above this VM (visitor message) box you will see Send Message - and you choose what to do.
Option 2.Go to Your private messages, find in the column on the left Send New Message, and just type the user's name in Recipient Username: ___ box.
