    hehe Oh well.
    *high fours*
Oh awesome!! Can you teach me a few tsmukan? Might come in use one day haha!

Oh that's alright, I appreciate the workmanship that went into it and all poets, writers normally look at all aspects of life. It's great to get inspiration when you go through certain things, musicians actually do more work when they feel negative or have thoughts like that. It's good to let it out.
No problem, I'm glad you like our help.

I'm going pretty well thanks, I have to finish of a major assignment and do two exams in a few weeks but I'm on unofficial holidays.
    Are you doing much gaming?

Woah tsmukan, a shame I only realised now that you posted on your own wall.
Nawww that's sad but at least you guys know a few phrases. Actually my dad learned to say my mum is in the kitchen in welsh hehe. He only told that to us a few days ago. Ahh do they know Nos da and Bore da? I know right? It would be a huge confidence boost!
How are you going Tsmukan, I haven't chatted with you for a while now.

My parents actually don't know any Welsh either, which is kind of surprising, considering my grandad is from the Valleys, but his parents didn't speak it either. He actually speaks better Greek than Welsh. My family know a few phrases (well, words) like os gwelwch yn dda and wedi blino, da iawn, diolch... all the standard things, mainly just because I told them, but they don't actively speak it. I just think it would be awesome if you could speak another language fluently though, like in most European countries, where they're taught both their own language, as well as English from a very young age.

Yes, exactly. Another reason for it was because most of the mine oners in the area were English-speaking so they didn't want their workforce to have a separate language to plan uprisings in, without them being able to understand. Those pesky miners...

But yes, although I do think it's largely a dying language and it will for sure be difficult to revive it, it should really be kept alive. The annoying thing is though here, there's a lot of government grants that you can get for university or volunteering, but you can only get them if you study, like 40% of the Uni course in Welsh and in Wales, which is great for fluent Welsh speakers, but the non-Welsh among us are left a little struggling.

I think that's a great idea though, and I honour you for it. For investing the time and wanting to do it, even though you're in a completely different country... Kind of makes me a little bit jealous.

It makes sense, since the english and english speaking people would of preferred the urban dwellings in the south, closer to England and away from the mountains. That sounds horrible, but in a way I'm not surprised, mostly all the colonisers apart from New Zealand tried to exterminate ethnic culture. It's really sad and I'm glad that it isn't as bad as that now. Nooo, not good! I think since it's only used in certain parts of Wales, no one really feels obliged to speak, learn and pass on the language. I know what you mean.

Very true, that's why I'm hoping to learn it, teach it to my brothers and hopefully later on to younger descendants. It's a very big part of our culture, I think it's one of the oldest languages in Europe since the Welsh were part of the original Britons. Hopefully we can help to preserve it aye.
Hehe my Dad only knows one word. Cymru. hehe How about your parents?

    Nice, you're very lucky.

Naww what a great opportunity, it's quite a shame though since I've heard from my dad that only the Welsh up north seem to speak it and those around Swansea and Cardiff don't. I understand that though, when you're that age no normally only do something that you thing you have to do to get anywhere. That's a great start, I suppose the best thing you can do is to pick up a welsh/english dictionary or print out the welsh alphabet with pronunciations. I'll be doing that myself. That would of been awesome Fkeu!!! I'm sure my late grandmother spoke it, a shame my father didn't learn from her so he could pass it on to us.

Hey Fkeu. Mmmm only a little, I'm slowly learning to speak some phrases from audio over the net and hopefully I'll be able to speak it fluently in a few years. I'm doing it to make my dad and late grandma proud. As well as learning a new language.
Can you speak it at all?
