Well, servers are PCs without any type of local human interface (monitor, keyboard, etc) that run 24/7 to do stuff. Like serve a website, file serving (windows sharing), downloading torrents, that type of thing. Basically doing all the Internet heavy lifting for stuff like DNS (you wouldn't want to be typing in ip addresses all the time, eh?), apache (you do like the internet, right?), samba (you like to be able to get you files from one PC to another?), iptables (Because Viruses, DDoS, and such are do not want right?). And most importantly, they are on all the time. (You would want all this cool stuff all the time?) This is by no means a complete list of what servers do. And yes, I have a lot of storage compared to most people. (around 4.5TB in total, no counting backups), but what gave you the idea about pr0n?

Hey just curious, what do you actually do with servers? Is it just like a really big external hard drive?

(Running out of places to store your porn? )
