    Awesome! I expect you'll have a blast with that. These microcontrollers are so amazingly inexpensive anymore, and now some of them come with DSPs, built-in wireless networking--it's crazy! Just read down the datasheets and your brain will overflow with cool ideas.

    Yup, I'm studying electrical engineering. I haven't programmed much so I prefer the analog side for now, but it's interesting to see where this goes I have plans for AVR controlled preamp.

    (So as not to drag one of those threads too far off topic... )

    You are studying electrical engineering? Computer engineering? Well, that's very cool. I'm sure that with your background in analog/audio stuff, you'll rocket right through your digital coursework. Microcontrollers are a lot of fun. They allow software guys like me to claim we know something about electronics!

    I do a bit of Tesla coil building on the side, but that's about it for the analog stuff! That said, I have an enormous collection of old radio valves, and hope one day to make something interesting with them.
