I'll find a solution. That's what people with common sense do, right?

And when something goes wrong... Where will you turn?

Hence why I'll form a collective.

Don't worry. That worked, for years; even decades. As an example, just see the havens still up since the 60s.

    Excellent, good luck. Go.

Finding food will be a bitch, kind of a touch and go thing. (Which is why we switched to agriculture) Bears will try to maul you, weather will ruin your day, and disease will be a constant companion. Assuming you survive all that and maintain a positive attitude, you'll be all set.

You're not forced into the system. It is very possible to not have to work at all. However you choose to work if you stay. Simple as that.

Freedom to do anything else by myself. I'm not for the whole "work to live, live to work" thing.

Those are our base needs. The system meets them. That's all its required to do, it doesn't supply enjoyment or things like that, those are your responsibility.

So tell me, what do you want?

Hence why "The rule of mediocrity"

You get to the point that you only see a warm place to sleep, food to eat, and a steady job.

There's a whole world out of that, you know.

A majority of America has a warm place to sleep, food to eat, and a steady job.

Suggesting completely tearing down something that's actually working pretty well in comparison to the rest of the world is ridiculous.
