Well, 152 MBs is a lot for a .gif. Maybe cutting out some parts would do the trick, or making it smaller. But then, I wouldn't know because I haven't seen it yet to give a reasonable analysis.

I'm sure it'll look amazing when this is all over. I've had problems when uploading things. You take forever getting the thing to upload, and then there's some error, and you have to start all over again after God knows how long you waited (like you just described). I don't really mind it that much, though, since I'm never really in too big a rush.

I'd try ImageBoot, but I dunno what'll happen (never used it; I've only known about it as a 'last resort' upload site in case I needed it). If that doesn't work, there's always MyPicx, but that's been taking down a lot of pictures lately, so I wouldn't trust it to host the image for any long period (you never know when it'll just fail). That's the best I can come up with in the 2 minutes I've spent to post this VM. Hope everything fairs well for you.
