Is it fair your thread got taken down to save some religious nutjob a few tears? When you worship a giant invisible guy in a world of halfway reasonable people you have to expect some opposition.

I think it's a peaceful religion that only the fanatics have made headlines about. However, I also think it preaches some pretty nasty things. Then again, I'm not an expert, so I won't judge. I really don't know what to think about the growing influence, except to say I don't like it. That's about it.

I completely agree with the premise if your thread, but sadly, there are people here who would seek only to cause problems because they don't believe in other people's right to an opposing view.

In the end, most of the resentment is unseen (and limited to individual remarks in threads that are otherwise unrelated) and in a few cases we may have come down on these threads hard before thigns actually happened, but when it turns into problems, we certainly do not enjoy having to clean it up.
Just remember that statistically, in 20-30 years, religious people will be an anthropologically interesting anachronistic minority with ever declining influence and relevance in the free world

I truly believe that to move successfully into the world of tomorrow we must unbound ourselves from the shackles of religion that so restricts our thinking. The biggest questions that humanity faces must be tackled with an iron will of logic and higher thought, only then can we enjoy a utopia that we can all be at peace with.
