Now, I could argue against that. If I may start the thread I would much appreciate that. What shall I name the thread? I am against war, but I see justification behind 'most' wars. Therefore my standing differs from yours.

I think it's useless. The answer lies on the conception of reality: I distinguish between abstract and material ones. When you see a conflict, you see two different countries fighting for an X reason; but that's actually an abstract concept. The material concept of what's actually happening is that there are people shooting down each other.

No matter the color of their uniforms, the fact is that there are people dying.

So I don't like much war. Also, it's kind of messy; with all that blood and guts spread all around.

Whether war is useless or not? I'm leaning towards this one at the moment. I don't want anything too philosophical as it starts making me depressed. Where do you stand on that though? Do you think it's useless or do you deem it necessary?

What is real, where's the actual place or importance an individual has in a society, human dignity, whether war is useless or not, or if we should take advantage of other species to make ours progress; are just a few of the topics I've thought of throughout the week.

I think it's a really good idea, I'd very like to collaborate with you in making a good debate thread. Just as in the old days I think the best kind of debates are the ones in which you put into trial something everyone seems to assume. Check out the main pillars of a posture, I mean; or perhaps, a shared preconceived thought everyone has.

I have a week to think over the topic; if you want to, I'm going to keep checking my PM inbox and thus I can answer to your opinions on the thread idea.

I was wondering if you wanted to set up a debate together? Something controversial perhaps, where people have strong opposing views. I think it would be good if we could collaborate together to get strong debates going once again. Logically, it may also herald my return to debating. As long as I have the energy. I believe you are preoccupied with study and exams at this point in time. So my announcment may come as a positive surprise when you return.

If you find this idea to be logically acceptable then we may proceed from this point and find a topic for debate.
