Default Avatar game scenario.

I may be behind the curve but I just saw the video for the iphone app version of the game. For all you gamers out there, I know nothing of the full game scenario just that it's similar to the movie plot. If the game app is just smaller version of the big game... my bad as I said, I don't play computer games, can't afford them and don't have the coordination.

This is a continuity thing for me if the game is to be taken as canon.
In the movie, Neytiri says that the last Toruk Makto was her Grandfather's Grandfather. Okay.... in my mind, using average life span of a healthy human, that could be over a hundred years ago. Think of your grandparents and when they're grandparents were in their prime. Na'vi live about the same span, maybe a bit longer so that puts it even further back in history.

The game app description says that the scenario is 20 years before the events of the film when humans first arrived on Pandora and the first Avatar user.
20 years ago is not far back enough for the 'last' Toruk Makto' and I would be hoping that it was a full blood Na'vi not another human. The humans would remember that kind of history and not want a repeat. Or are we stupid like that? (Don't answer that...)
I would really like to know what the previous 'Time of Sorrows' was about but I don't like a rehash of the movie and calling it 'backstory'.
I'll get over it I suppose.

Long uncomfortable night. I'm cranky this morning. Don't call me 'stupid' call me 'uninformed'.

Well I don't take movie based games much seriously plot-wise. Sometimes I think playing the game could ruin the experience for me, but that's just me. Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I wonder how long ago was the time of the first songs, since 100 years ago is not much considering it has happened only 5 times since then.

I don't consider the games canon for a lot of reasons! Only played the PC game, but if the story there is supposed to be canon, then it kinda ruins it for me.

For example: The humans aren't concentrated in relatively small numbers at Hells gate in the game, they have practically taken the whole planet. And it's not some kind of small-scale conflict anymore, rather a world war! Also worth mentioning is that there are about 10 000+ humans, 25 + dragons and about 500 mech suits ... Were the heck did they come from?

Also, the protagonist becomes Toruk Makto at the end, and yet, noone seems to care!

It's not necessarily the entire game that's canon. The brothers who created the Matrix movies and the game were smart. The game filled in the gap between the movies which worked out nicely.
It would have been nice to have that for Avatar. Oh well. The game is not canon, nor is it to be considered part of the story arc. I can live with that.
Not that it mattered much anyway, but I'm a trivia hound and that would be filed in the Avatar continuity folder.

The games aren't canon. During the games there is an actual human/Na'vi war, not to mention the number of humans I killed during each playthrough would probably be enough to deplete Hell's Gate 10 times or so

Well, I just love using a Scorpion and firing my missiles blowing up **** to high heaven.

(waits for flame of post)

Well, in the end, it doesn't really matter if it's canon or not. The gameplay and graphics normally fill the place for that. The wii version of the game seems canon to me though. No toruk makto in sight.

I fully agree with those who don't consider the games canon. There's too much of a discontinuity with the film. Lots of mismatches in both history and technology.
