The main part of the film is that Jake begines to see when he sees through the eyes of the Na'vi, but I believe that the Na'vi learned something as well: The sky people as a whole aren't evil, only the corporation is. I mean, Jake tried to warn the Na'vi that Quarach was coming to distroy hometree and he wanted them to run so none of them would die. But they just got angry at him and restrained him and grace in anger, even though Jake said that everything changed when he begain to see, thinking that all sky people are the same. Even when Jake tried to comfort Neytiri when she was morning over her Father, Naytiri rejected him in angry and hate. But all of their thoughts changed when Jake returned as Toruk Makto, showing that he and Grace and the others were different than the heads of the RDA. It's not Race that diffines a person, it's the choices they make that difine them.

They learned that one in a thousand is not good odds.
In other words, the actions of the rest spoke louder than the actions of one redeemer among them. The humans killed the people, scarred the land, and likely poisoned the planet from the mine. They are not going to trust humans no matter who comes. Jake is now one of them, and there are still humans on Pandora that he trusts and through his trust, the Na'vi will trust only a few. Actions speak louder than words, and in the RDA, neither are trustworthy. They learned that miracles do happen but at a great cost and any people that come from the sky... aren't good for the planet until proven otherwise.

Well said... The vast majority of humans are still ayskxawng and that didn't change. After all, by the end, it was by becoming Na'vi that Jake truly changed.

One of Tsu'tey's deleted lines was something around how he didn't trust any sky person, how he thought they were all bad, but then seeing Jake as Toruk Makto and admitting his error in that assumption.

There is also another deleted scene right before Jake's ceremony in which Grace says that she taught the Navi a word for "lie".

Well, there has to be some reason that Eywa chose Jake to be her champion in the fight against the RDA instead of another Na'vi. Clearly SHE thought that the Na'vi could learn something from the Sky People.

I think he changed even before that and he and the other Human defectors because they saw when they needed to see.

In that case, the Na'vi learnt absolutely nothing from the humans.

They had to learn that human weapons are more effective against human weapons than bows and arrows.

Come on, your all missing the point. I started this thread to think about moral values. can you stop with the battle plan stuff?
Quote:
And HNM, If the vast mojority of humans are ayskxawng, do you basicly say to hell with the Activists in the Survival Guide along with the rest of the stuppified Human population who are unaware of the turth because the RDA controls what gets out ?It's the RDA thats the enemy: they have the money to hire the guns to do their dirty work and the they use the Unubtainum they extract for their own profit and nothing else. The RDA has humanity trapped in economic dependency. For the defecters of the RDA, they basicly rebeled ageinst a greedy Corpation that kills for power. They basicly said "Enough's enough." Also, remember the quote that Neytiri said in the scriptment? "Spirit is all that matters." Jake's sprit is in two bodies and in the end he chose to keep it in the one that he can actualy live in. It doesn't matter if you are born Human or na'vi, Spirt is all that matters.

I notice a disturbing tendency where it seems like people actually WANT to view all of humanity as scum, or they WANT to see a story where humans just keep coming back with more weapons, nothing changes, and that's it. Personally, I'd find such a story to be boring and kind of stupid. I wish people would realize that humanity does not equal the RDA, and that the cynical outlook does not, by default, equal the "realistic" outlook. The humans that were on Pandora in Avatar are not what I would call a "representative" sample of all humans in existence. Morally, I'd say hating someone just because of how they were born is always going to be unfair and wrong, no matter how "justified" that hatred might feel in the case of the Na'vi hatred of humans. Back to the original question.... Quote:
