Hey guys! Just wondering if there were any New Zealanders lurking around here? I know that Autumnshire and Spock are, aswell as me, just wanting to know if there were any others?

Indeed. I of all people know this, I just hope it doesn't get any bigger, I'm the kind of person that like to know all that there is to be know. Lack of knowledge and more importantly understanding, it's like death for me.

LOL... I'm sooo sorry! California not only has surfers, but we also have mountains with actual snow! It feels weird talking to someone in Colorado about our mountains in California. Many of them don't know that California has mountains, snow, ski resorts, etc.. haven't they heard of Yosemite? Or perhaps the Sequoias? Coast Redwood - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yeah, those trees are amazing, I want to have a go at climbing one.

Hehe, climbing a sequoia without equipment would not be easy. There usually is no branch for a couple hundred feet :) Climbing them with equipment would likely be damaging - their bark is spongy and quite soft. It is nearly fireproof and disease proof, but that doesn't help it against the likes of people.

Of course, if you were to climb one you would have to find one outside of the national parks. They discourage even walking near one because of the damage that can be done to their extremely shallow root system.

Yeah, I would use equipment. I'm not that silly, I know how hard they would be to climg up without equipment.

That is so neat that they're kinda protected like that :)
