why everyhthing has to turned into Pr0n - this sucks anyway.
|
*cough* I'm a bit of a furry *cough*
|
I can see the appeal of it, but I prefer other fetishes. I hate reading the encyclopedia dramatica article on furries. It's just awful, I mean why are furries the internet punching bag?

Absolute truth. But people will deny it to their deathbeds. |
I like the artwork of a guy named AlvinEarthworm on DeviantArt, but that's about the full extent of me.

That doesn't necessarily result in somebody being a "punching bag".

I meant no offense, I just usually post that when threads go off on tangents.

Uh, I'm going to step in for a second. Many people have different opinions about furries and if you're classified as one.
Being a furry is having a warm and "cuddly" personality, with a (usually sexual) interest in anthro art to the point in that you may wear fursuits or visit conventions or wear animalistic features on your body. I really like anthro and I have a good collection of art. I'm also sexually attracted to it. I don't have the personality and I don't fursuit, but I want to go to a convention just for the fun of it. So I consider myself a bit of a furry, since I'm interested in the community and meeting other people interested in the art. Having an interest in anthro art does not automatically make you a furry ;) Edit: Disclaimer - this is my opinion on the subject. I've only had a recent interest in anthro and the furry fandom. |

Then again these types of tags should be more or less explicit, because unlike humans, applications usually can't make assumptions. And since assumptions themselves can be highly inaccurate, one would have to conclude that using tags or labels is pointless to begin with if they are not 100% accurate. So if you label yourself as furry, what does that mean? What would a random person assume if you had such a tag? In reality none of us have any real tags, that is we have tags, but they have no information value in them. Because that information merely resides within those who interpret them, because it's a subjective experience, so no matter how you would define this particular tag, it would have no effect on how someone else might interpret it. That is unless you were able to manipulate their point of view beforehand, but that's besides the point. Anyways I think I just wrote too much, but said so little. |

I give myself the label of "furry" when I talk with non-furries or people who haven't heard of the furry fandom or anthro. I don't like to, since I don't like what is associated with "furry" (such as homosexuality and such) and I'm not a "big" furry. I like to draw a line between being a furry and having an interest in anthro ;) |

Is there something wrong with homosexuality? Though I've wondered why they go so much hand in hand. |
I didn't understand most of your post...
Edit: Yes, there's something wrong with it when I am associated with it when I'm with friends. I don't want to be, but this furry fandom creates this false image. |

Yay FURRIES!

And it pretty much goes without saying that one does not want to give a wrong impression of one's sexual orientation, especially in immature company. Then again this all ties in with what I said earlier about the problem with people assuming way too much. |

Also, her eyebrows/eyelashes seem to be growing ON TOP OF HER (black and purple....?) HAIR! Very strange.. Unless she chose to dye it that colour and it's naturally similar to her fur, her black and purple hair/fur would severely counteract her camouflage - I don't think she'd last in the wild. |
Terrible eyes.
|
Awww *sad face*. :( :P
Good to see that this thread has taken a more civil turn. Another flame-war averted. :) |
I'm down.
|
I don't like the anime-style eyes either. Other than that, I like it :)
|
I agree I'm a bit of a furry as well (I wear a cat mask and tail with bells on the end to raves hehe) but thats not the only reason obviously hehe
|
I don't understand how people cannot be furry.
