R.I.P. Grace and Trudy...

I can't always help but think back to Grace and Trudy... they were both a major help to the Avatar world, helping transport the scientists and learning about Pandora and the Na'vi overall... I feel sorry that they died. I always think back to them after the movie, all the people who helped defend Pandora and all those who lost their lives. I doubt I am the only one?

I wasn't thinking of those two wonderful characters myself specifically, Stanley, but the other day I was pondering the aftermath of the final battle. I had something of a fanfic in mind... not that I have time to write it! There was an enormous amount of loss of life on both sides, much of it in a rather gruesome fashion. In Grace's case, we know that she was joined with the Tree of Souls before she passed. But what of those that merely fell in the forest? Would the biological network seek out their life force as well? I would like to think that all would have been able to join with Eywa, especially since they were quite near the Tree of Souls at the time. What do you think?

Grace and Trudy (not to forget Tsu'tey either) were awesome characters and will be missed in the sequel.

While Trudy is most likely dead Im still clinging onto one last shred of hope that we never actually see Trudy die, just her Samson, but I guess it's probably just false hope.

I know... :'(

I think it's more likely Grace will come back, as her avatar is still there. Trudy won't, I think...

i wish both of them didn't die. Ofcourse, deaths add to the plot (and maybe Grace isn't really dead O_O) but I think Trudy should defenetily have syrvived. She could have kept flying the scientists around Pandora after the rest of the humans went back. Afterall, since the scientists can do what they want now, why would they want to stay in Hell's Gate? There's nothing to do!

R.I.P. Grace and Trudy

For me Trudy is one of the most heroic persons in the movie... She has no avatar, probably any direct personal contact with Na'vi, but she take care about them, knew what is right to do and was willing to sacrifice her life for the right thing.

They definitely helped the story along and really brought an atmosphere Jake having friend and allies during the movie. I think it'll be hard to replace them for a sequel... We'll have to see where Cameron takes it.

I liked both characters, Trudy especially. Definitely the epitome of courage right there!

Indeed, Grace and Trudy were heroes. Both were willing to give it all to do what was right.

However, Neytiri still dominates my thoughts:D

Very true. From what we see of the movie, Trudy acts with with highest selfless moral standards. She fights and dies for what she believes against those who used to be her comrades, and presumeably in some cases, friends.

Trudy is the most human of them all.

I know from the script that Trudy had a relationship with Norm, but in the movie, that is not evident and so must be discounted.

Hummm.... I am sorry but I have noting to say, but I am agree with all of you matsumke si matsumkan.

They will be missed by me for sure :(

josie20 05-13-2010 03:45 AM

Poor Trudy, she was such a hero. I definitely feel more bad about her death than Grace's, though they were both very tragic. I know some will think this is blasphemy, and I may get a-lot of crap for this, but I think I liked Trudy's character better than Neytiri's.

Before you start yelling at me, I'm going to watch the movie again tomorrow, so maybe I'll change my mind. :)

Day is done,
gone the sun,
From the hills, from the lake, From the skies.
All is well,
safely rest,
God is nigh.

Go to sleep,
peaceful sleep,
May the soldier or sailor, God keep.
On the land
or the deep,
Safe in sleep.

Love, good night,
Must thou go,
When the day, And the night Need thee so?
All is well.
Speedeth all
To their rest.

Fades the light;
And afar
Goeth day, And the stars Shineth bright,
Fare thee well;
Day has gone,
Night is on.

Thanks and praise,
For our days,
'Neath the sun, Neath the stars, 'Neath the sky,
As we go,
This we know,
God is nigh.

(those are the unofficial lyrics to taps btw...)

Trudy and Grace... i will miss that 2 a lot, Grace was a kind of mother figure for Jake... Was nice to see them interact with each other :D

And Trudy... awesome character too, Too bad she did not send Quaritch to hell, it was quite not fair that she died.. But well, as long death is not 100% confirmed there is still hope i guess ;)

I think it's cool that Trudy got to put war paint on herself and her ship as well as getting some armbands to wear. I kind of wonder how that went down, did Jake or Norm give them to her? Did she have them already? If the script (unofficially) implies that she and Norm had something then maybe he gave them to her. I'd rather think that Jake did seeing as how he had closer ties with the Na'vi. He knew how much of a warrior she was and how important the battle would be.
Going to go write down what's in my head for the scene...will post it in the fan fic area.
