Mother's Day Thread

Hmm, I would assume on Pandora as Eywa is at the centre of Na'vi Spirituality, they honor their not only their Great Mother, but mother's, grandmothers, auntie's, sisters, cousins, daughters every day. ;)

Here in Canada, try as we might to do so, well he have a holiday to remind us just in case we forget, LOL! Its this Sunday May 9th, so I thought I'd start a thread to get everyone to share what they do or would do, or what you do everyday to celebrate Mother's of all kind.

I love this week leading up to Mother's Day, I go around and hangout in greenhouses and garden stores, soaking up all the new flowers and plants arrayed with such splendor and beauty and fragrances wafting all around. Every year i pick up a hanging or potted basket for my Mom and Aunties, (we take flowers out to my Grandmother's resting spots), and small potted plants for my cousins, coworkers and woman friends. Its such a simple thing, but it seems to just celebrate the spirit of it. Then we get together and make a big brunch for the gathering. No matter the weather it always seems to be a good day.

Usually I try and do something for Mother Earth too, sometimes its just saying going for a walk and saying a meditation and placing my hands on the earth and feeling a grateful connection.

I'm grateful for my Mom and all the sisters and woman in my life, we're all worth celebrating not just one day, but everyday!

*HUGS* To all the Sisters, Woman, Mothers, Aunties, Grandma's, Cousins, Daughters, Nieces, Gaia and just Good Friends on this forum!

The only thing I will have managed to do this year is get a card for my mom. We normally would do something for her but this weekend will be busy. In fact, I'll be out of town for a few days so I won't be on the forums since I'll be out of town to go to my brother's wedding. I'll be seeing her tomorrow. We're getting our nails done for the wedding so it can be a little bit of a celebration :).

That was very touching Kat! I'm glad you brought this up and said it in such a beautiful way!

Well I thought last Sunday was Mothers Day so I went to a flower store and ordered (I might mispell this) coursage (thats right isn't it? Coursage or coursant... I always forget) but luckily the lady told me it was next Sunday so Saturday I'll pick it up and buy my mom a card too... and I love the idea of Mother Earth as well! I hadn't thought about that before, I'll totally have to do something... maybe I could plant my tree then! :D

Gratitude and giving thanks is by far the best loving kind act I've seen thus far, as it breathes life in each individual I come across and they are sprung alive by each thoughtful deed. :)

I'm glad that you are doing the best you can Seshat Tsahìk. Never give anything less than your best possible. :hi:

Seems you have Mother's Day on a different date to us :P

Nice thought though, I like it :)

I give a drawing to my mother every year. A drawn out card making fun of how she gardens 24/7 (no kidding, even at night). But this year, I'm gonna draw Robert Downy Jr. I think. She loves him so much, and I think he's just as awesome as Ewan McGregory.

I never bought a card, and she tells me that a drawing is more than a present or a card, so I'm good :D
