Does anyone else here meditate?

I can strongly recommend it to anyone who doesn't.

Meditation was something I did from an early age, I had a meditation book my mum would read to me while I pictured the scene in my mind. But then I lost the technique for a number of years.

Only after Avatar did I start meditating again. It's a truly liberating experience, whether you're just looking to clear your mind or whether you want to go to Pandora and be somewhere else for a while. (I find it akin to lucid dreaming often) Plus, you always come away feeling refeshed and alive.

Do we have anyone else here who enjoys meditation?

we have different types of meditation in the Catholic Church. Granted, I'm not very good at it since I get easily distracted. However, it is good to do.

I used to be REALLY into meditation. I don't know why I ever stopped. I've been trying to get back into it, but it's frustrating because it used to be so easy for me to "slip away", but now it takes more time/focus. I need to get serious again.:war:

I do meditate... to my own surprise lol. I take a strawberry candle, and I look at it while I sit down on the edge of my bed. Sometimes I don't even bother, but on some days, I just look at it and wonder about how I'm going through my life. I think a bit of critical thinking and serenity is something people practice on a time-to-time basis, but yet my brother asks me why the hell I do it. That is the deep mediation I practice, but on a daily basis, I mediate on the bus. I think about my goals, my drive, my purpose. I think of very possible things that could get in my way and contemplate how to overcome them. After that, which is a brief moment of a few minutes, I just live the rest of the day till I get home.

I know how to, but I rarely have time for it. Damn.

I meditate, but I find the best place to do it is with water running over you, so you can imagine things more clearly..
It's definitely relaxing. Not only that but it also creates a nice blank in the mind where you only are focused on the matter at hand: like surfing.

I've never surfed, *but sounds like big time fun*
but when I take shower, I know exactly what you mean. Only when the water gets cold, you better hurry up and get on out of there!

Oh yea, sometimes though I only do it if I'm really down or have PAD, I just can't stand and I sit there in the shower head in my arms for like 10-15 minutes...

and whenever the water gets cold its usually someone running the washer or sprinklers or using anything like a sink or hose in the house lol then I just pound on the wall

Another question then, when you meditate, do you use music or just silence? I personally meditate to music that you would think impossible to meditate to, but I find it helps creat the scene and depending on the tone of the music, there are certain places on Pandora i'll be dropped into.

it all depends on how I'm feeling... music is a big part of my life and I'll set up a relaxing playlist that includes soft beats, calming synths, possibly some ambient background noise so I can just lose myself in their world or if I think up of a world. Othertimes its just like I don't want to hear anything except the silence around me so then I just turn everything off (including my phone) and just sit there

Yes, I do that when i'm out and about in nature meditating, it's so much better to have the sounds of the Earth in your ears than any music ever could be, but if i'm in the house it has to be music for me, otherwise I hear all the tiny things like buzzing of fridges and creaks and stuff. Turning off the phone is an absolute necessity at all times though. :D

I find this a particularly nice one to meditate to...
