Meh - I dont like puddles.
I think I broke a toe 2 weeks ago when walking barfoot and slipping in such a puddle. It still hurts and was swollen for almost 2 weeks. :(

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. I hope your toe is better now... a few weeks ago, I sprained my left big toe, when stubbing it on the curb, crossing the roads. A barefoot accident, and the first happening to me in years... the swelling and reddening subsided after a few days, though. Therefore I find urban barefooting far more dangerous than puddles.

Speaking of the latter, I got caught in a downpour after work yesterday, exiting the tram near my apartment... while other people were hunched down, running from the raindrops, I walked with my head held high, smiling and really enjoying splashing my bare feet in the rain water that ran in little brooks from the downhill roads over them... listening to some upbeat trance music on my MP3 player almost made me dance in the rain.

Prior to that strong rain, I cooled off after work, with a little help from puddles on the way to the bus stop near the office:

Those are nice barefoot moments, even on cool and rainy days.

I've had way too many bad barefoot experiences in the street to try that again :hmm: Toe shoes are the way to go around here.

It depends where. I've never had any problems where I live and have done it in a few nicer parts of London as well as on the Tube before, but wouldn't in some just due to too much debris.

Most people seeing me walk barefoot in the city are gaping as if I were doing some fakir act... OK, my sometimes less-than-ordinary outfit might also be a reason for them staring, as well.
:D

The fun thing is, if they inquire about walking barefoot, the first thing coming to their mind is temperature, when I am barefoot on cold days - they ask: "Isn't that too cold?". As soon as temperatures reach levels, where it's comfortable enough for anyone to walk barefoot, the question changes to "Isn't that too dangerous?", and with temperatures above 25°C/77F, it's "Isn't it too hot?".

It's been a while since this thread was updated. I'd like to see more pictures of barefooting cuz the season is soon here and my shoes are gonna be collecting dust. :)

Lets hope spring will finally come here. Some days ago there was still snow and now it still is cold and wet. So barefooting is possible as Txim keeps showing us but at least for me it is no big pleasure when it is that cold and my health is as bad as it is these months... But it is supposed to get warmer, the bees in our hives are starting to fly around - sadly not finding much yet - so we all hope for a springtime soon...

Hope a Real spring comes your way soon!
I was barefooting yesterday on the beach :) That was perfect :P :awesome:

I also take my shoes off in the forest but the soil is rocky & full of gravel, so it is not, really, a nice touch - but a good 'grounding' and stress relief nonetheless. Especially if I stand in the brook coming from the waterfall - the icy mountain water makes one's mind go blank in a split second. No more stress! :D

So where is our main man.....txim_asawl ?

auroraglacialis 04-18-2013 08:55 AM

Wow, spring came with a rush now. This week is supposed to be great. I hope I get some free time for the topic of this thread as long as it is so nice.

It still strikes me as odd cuz our main man has been absent for a while now. He always kept us up to date with his barefooting but lately he has been MIA......I'm a bit worried......

I did a while back. I guess he's busy with life. :)

I love walking barefoot on grass and soul. I feel better in touch with Gaia when I do.
