Ouch... Ironically, most of the walking I do is actually on artificial surfaces - roads and pavements. Makes my feet tough, but doesn't really give any way to deal with things like that. Haven't got around to doing it so much recently, although a few days ago I did walk almost the whole way home barefoot, was a good feeling,
The cold doesn't really hugely bother me but I'm naturally fairly warm, always had more of a problem with the heat than the cold. |
Ah well - I dont lke artificial surfaces so much, if they are in the city. I somehow dont like to walk on concrete that people have dropped their waste on, that has maybe glas shards or chewing gum. But I cant go barefoot at work anyways and at home there is not so much concrete and if I walk with the dog, I usually have more to deal with these pebble roads than concrete...
Up to now, the temperature is still ok, as long as I keep the rest of me warm. But eventually winter will come. The nights are already at 5°C - brr |
5°? I have 22° nights. As for going barefoot, the most I've done is walking barefoot on a golf course at night on weekends. I haven't run recently, probably should start again. I guess the last time I wore my 5 finger shoes was August (which I wore pretty much all month if I wore anything at all).

It's still really hot here at times. Walking on concrete barefoot when it's 35C and sunny outside hurts... a lot. I'm always barefoot inside though. :P

I can walk on pebbles all right. Not fast but maybe just a step under normal speed. And always watch where I'm walking. When I wear shoes I take the soles and padding off of them to make it close to barefoot as possible. It helps.

*step* ow! *step* ow! *step* ow! thats how it went for me in my backyard...

Honestly, I go out for an hour at least each day, just walking barefoot in my backyard. Not counting the long trip to HS. It may sound far-fetched, but I enjoy it. It's a great time to just imagine things. Good exercise too. :D |
Right, first of all... Hi.
Just wanted to share a quote I heard once. Someone asks a man why he walks barefoot in a shoppingmall... he simply answers: "You know... shoes is like condoms." -"Condoms?" "Yes it feels better without." Sorry if it's not really clean... as I said earlier I'm new hear and don't know your limitations. |
It's a good point :P
|
LOL! I love it! So true. :P
Oh, and welcome. :) BTW you look like a Metrocop in your avatar. :P |
:D I lol'd irl, true though. very true.
|
you broke a toe? how did you manage that! :P - to make that condom comparison a bit more clean you could also say that you dont wear gloves all day. Not as funny though, just thought of us here in the lab wearing rubber gloves a lot and they are a bit like condoms for the hands - have a good use though like I dont get burns when handling acids. So I guess shoes do the same in some aspects - still in all three cases - it feels better without indeed :D
