Exhausted
I don't know if you feel the same, but I am an artist (wannabe) and as so I'd love to spend my time in creating. A short novel, a philosophical essay and drawing are some of my personal projects I try to carry on right now; however, I'm 16 and that means studying for the future.
And studying for the future means also to prioritize that over anything else. So I have a good idea to keep my story going or a new concept for my essay, a sketch of an odd building; and I just can't finish none of them since teachers would take them out of my hands. When I arrive home, my body and my head are completely aching and it's difficult enough to get the homework done until 8 PM to worry about anything else. Just supper and then go sleep. So I have no time for myself; unless I invent the 25-hour day or multitask instead. Can't check the forums, can't write a thing, can't read a book,... This is just exhausting. I wish I could explain myself better, but it's 11PM here and I need to go sleep so I can keep this (farce) going. |
I completely understand you Zenit. It is exhausting. Try to get some rest and think about managing your time so that you will be able to get the boring studying over with. That should leave you time to do what you want to do :).

I think a schedule about what to do after school would be nice ;) i got home back from school around 5.30 PM my time and i start doing all the homeworks and studying for tests , specially this month because i have a lot of tests (term tests) and im trying to deal with that and with many other stuff ... anyway , that's my little advice :D hope it works and good luck ;)

Exhaustion at 16....been there, done that. Went to a parochial college prep school. We didn't have semi-finals....we had quarterlies. Looking back on those days, though, I realize I did two things wrong. I didn't eat properly and didn't call it a day early enough.
What it comes down to is that your weekends are your quality time. Make your school week work for you so that the weekend is free and clear. What do you eat for breakfast, and what do you eat as soon as you get home? If you aren't getting enough protein, that will make all that thinking you do harder, and you get tired of it faster. Protein is brain food. Do you snack after school? Do you sneak in a nap? If these sound familiar, they are the harbingers of a challenged sleep pattern and potential diet problems. That's what I was doing...at the end of the day I'd reward myself (after taking off the f**king sportcoat and tie) with a sweet treat. The sugar crash that followed would put me out until supper, and then I'd do my homework in the evening if I didn't get it done in school. And that's one place to really get ahead, if you can. It's only called homework. So what did I do after my homework was done? Well, it was usually close to bed, so I'd just bury my brain in a science fiction novel or something. And then it would get way too late and I'd eat into my sleep time. Which, of course, just added fuel to the fire the next day, and I'd be even more tired when I got home, and would just crash harder. It was very unhealthy. How I left that school with the grades I did (rather decent) is beyond my imagination. So you say your first priority is studying for the future? Not quite. Your first priority is establishing good eating and sleeping habits to give you the strength to study, and study well. The more energy you bring to that effort, the faster you'll get done and the more you'll learn. And the sooner you'll be able to enjoy ToS or your other creative pursuits. So sez Father Time. :D |
Thanks people, I'll try to put in practice your advice; starting by sleeping more :D
