IRC USER POLL: IRC Bots Voting.
 

This poll is for the ToS IRC users.

As most of them are aware of, there are currently two bots in the IRC channel. Both bots have caused both praise and complaints. To solve the negative side of this, we will now keep a poll here for the IRC users to vote in - for both bots to remain in the IRC channel, keeping just one of the bots, or remove both bots.

The result of the poll will decide what happens in the end.

Ikran only speaks when spoken too.

So does HAL-9000, it all depends on what you TEACH him. plus, he is MUCH more sane.

I have had him start spouting nonsense without being addressed. Its very annoying.

Murder them both.

I corrected that bit in the code, FYI. he no longer spouts off bandnames, or says things randomly, ONLY talks when a factoid id present, or addressed.

Also. when can we talk in IRC?

I can't for soem reason.

Those factoids are what were annoying to me...

Ikran is fun to mess around with when the chat is dead, same for Hal. I say keep both!

HAL-9000 is just better, he is more interactive, and why cant we type on the IRC

I'm a big fan of Ikran...especially pre-memory wipe ;) Don't care too much for HAL. Do whatever works

id love to give a opinion but they are not on when i am ( aka late night east coast )

I stand behind my ideal opinion, that people use IRC to talk with one another.

I still love Ikran :P But yeah, I'm still going to go with the general consensus, if that's what you guys really want..

Keep both or kill both..

I'd like a bot with !seen (when has someone been online the last time) feature and such, but bots that randomly shout useless stuff or kick people without a reason are stupid.

HAL-9000 no longer spouts randomness. Also, there is a command similar to !seen which is !lastspoke. It tells you when someone last spoke and also what they said. For example,

We have recently discovered that a user double voted for "remove both bots" (using two separate user accounts), which is naturally forbidden. We will therefore remove one vote for this option.

Then how come it's now 9? Last time I was here the vote said 11 on that option. Or was it infact two votes done using a triple account?

As a result I decided I wanted to change my vote. I had initially considered the same opinion, but decided against it after that.

Neytiri has !seen as well as !lastspoke.
