Ah, but this has nothing to do with hierarchy. If she is the best singer, she is probably very well know. But that does not mean she is the most important. Just like celebrities today in fact.

Perhaps the producers didn't want to make her too pretty.

In music videos with female singers, have you notices that the camera almost never concentrates on the pretty backing dancers, Or they make up the girls so that they don't look as attractive as the star. There could be something in that theory.

Of course, it goes without saying that Neytiri would still be the most attractive regardless.

I'll be frank. Singing isn't Neytiri's strong suit. In fact, her low, husky voice makes her a pretty bad singer in my opinion. Nevertheless, she is still hot, and tried to bring out the good side of everyone. That's a truly beautiful mind.

She has a beautiful voice. I love it, it's a great voice for singing more my kind of music :)

The husky voice comment reminds me of when I was in a pub once... I was stood at the bar trying to get served and a really drunk bloke walks up to me and says "I love your husky voice, it is so sexy". I was quite offended as I never saw the attraction to a husky voice in a woman. It was safe to say I left the bar promptly!

In regards of Neytiri, I don't think she has an overly husky voice, but she certainly isn't the worst singer. Obviously EVERYONE love Neytiri, even the girls. You have to appreciate a good looking lady when you see one (waiting for men to say something about this!). Would be good to see Ninat and Bayral (sp?) in Avatar 2 if they survived the final battle.

That's hard to say. Some very good female singers have husky voices (e.g Kate Tunstall).

Neytiri has a speaking great voice. She sounds so sultry/sensual/exotic, especially in the firsts scenes she appears in the movie when she is acting tough.

That's a perfect word for it, sensual. She has the perfect voice for that :D

Really? I thought she was a good singer... Her voice may not be as clear as Beyral's but she definitely can hold the pitch! ;)

She looks great! I always imagined her with really heavy makeup, but that was probably influenced by the IRC Ninat meme.
