The Monday Thread

Mondays can be terrible, dull, hard to get through, or, on occasion, good.

So how was your Monday?

(Please do not post in this thread if it is not Monday, I will work on getting it locked during the rest of the week.)

Isard 05-17-2010 10:38 PM

I sleep through 90% of Monday.

I despise it that much.

Earthlover18 05-17-2010 10:41 PM

Ugh it has been rainy here all day. Can't wait for the sun to return:P

Grif 05-17-2010 10:43 PM

It's been looking like it's going to rain for the past few hours where I live. My Monday has been dull because all my senior friends no longer have to come to school, it's really depressing. However a few stopped by to clean out their lockers so that was nice.

My Monday has been ok... It's no over yet though. Still have another 2 hours to go until I can get outa here!

My Monday was terrible. HUGE pile of coursework = not fun :P

Also, Grif, I can lock and unlock this thread as you want - although how should we do regarding different timezones?

Well I usually opened by 10:00 am CST and locked it before I went to sleep (around midnight CST). I know there are different time zones, but I feel that I gave enough time for everyone to post.

I didn't have to work today, the sun was shining and the temperature was perfect, and I did some painting and writing...I had an awesome Monday. :D

On a rainy Monday
...a feeling inside me
Like the days of summer

On a rainy Monday
..I feel it inside me
In the hopes of one day

Rainy Monday by Shiny Toy Guns :)

My monday was actually pretty well for a rainy monday, don't know why work didn't get me down like I expected, and college was still great.

Can't say the same for every monday, except college is still bomb

Now that my Monday is almost over I can say that it was actually a good day. Had my sister over and she brought her kids. Love those kids!!! We bbq'd some ribs and had a nice dinner.

Looking forward to Tuesday because biggest loser is on! One of the things that has given me motivation to get in shape and stick with it.

I spent the entire day cleaning out my room. The highlight of my day was finding a ticket stub for Superman Returns.

Totally sick today. Missed my first day of work in over three years. I slept through most of the whole day. I'm feeling better now so I'm looking ahead for tomorrow.

Helicoradian 05-18-2010 05:40 AM

Mondays are usually a drag, but I did some work outside today so it wasn't too bad.

One of my volunteers and I got a great start to the week working on a display deck for a helicopter drone at the museum. It's supposed to look like part of the deck of a Navy destroyer. I spent ALL last week welding it's frame together, only to have the top develop a distinct bow, kind of like a shallow hill. I'm not all that experienced when it comes to sticking metal together. Anyway, we worked the problem today and when we left it was ready to get it's decking applied first thing tomorrow morning. Looking really good! The drone is currently hanging from the rafters in one of our hangars, and it has to come down soon since it's a bit in the way of some new construction. I don't have a great big monkey on my back, but it would be good to finish as promised.

Otherwise, at home I got a lot done on the airplane model I'm making for X-Plane, and just finished zipping around a bit in northern Brazil after getting the laundry done, eating supper and watching an awesome episode of House.

The Amazonian terrain is awesome, and would likely be what Pandora looks like from the air. This is probably where I'm (someday) going to put together a landscape that reflects Hell's Gate, Hometree II and, of course, the Tree of Souls and Hallelujah Mountains. I surrendered to common sense and realize I'm not going to be able to do full terrain for the entire moon!! Go figure.

Mondays usually blow chunks 'cause of having to go back to work, but then again, it's usually my best day of the week since I'm recharged. They call that a dichotomy.

:D
