Humans are fascinating.
 

I love to interpret human nature and behaviour. However, it has become increasingly more complicated recently. I have just found myself becoming exhausted when trying to interpret and categorize (yes, as a history scholar I break everything down into understandable bits) every small reaction and interaction.

I will continue to try and do so, I might try mind-mapping or something. The human brain is like trying to solve a complex equation.

So I ask, otherwise this thread would be pointless psychobable, does anyone else attempt to interpret human behaviour and nature on a regular basis like I do? I find it most fascinating, "among other feelings".

I'm glad to find someone else who contemplates human behaviour like I do..I can't help watching and observing when people get in all sorts of situations and their emotions and mechanisms that they establish and show when they need to cope and adapt to situations. As a budding social worker I feel that I should be able to watch and identify humans in their environment so then when I eventually become a social worker I might know how to best treat them..
Not only that but it gives me something to do with my spare time..

That is indeed something cool to do... although for me sometimes I spend too much time trying to figure myself out first :)

Mmmh. I'm glad that I can relate to you about this. It is truly fascinating. I also have an extremely abstract sense of humour. Lets not go there. But my point is, if I've percieved someones behaviour and nature for long enough then I usually find aspects of it tantalizingly funny. I'm not saying that it's a good thing. But that's just me. I am also fascinated by personality flaws if I find them.

Lets take Macbeth in Shakespeare's play "Macbeth". The character Macbeth has an inherant personality flaw, that is, his "vaulting ambition". This eventually leads to his death if you've read the play. He is a perfectly normal and genuine character in all other lights. Sorry to get shakespearian on you. But I couldn't think of anything else.

Yea, although my adult friend really loves to examine other people... it's fascinating all that he knows just by observing.

Hahaha ahh yes there are traits that can override others..we all have our flaws, our weak spot. I just hope that most can help themselves before they lose control.

I have observed weaker personalities become absolute slaves to more dominant personalities as well. Clearly a flaw. This is something you must avoid at all costs.

Seriously, a lot of the time it's difficult, because the fellow trusts me rather completely. That's a tremendous compliment. But I wonder sometimes at the distance he maintains. There is always something like that between a leader and the led, it's only proper. This is more than that. Then again, we recently bonded completely on the search for a particular datum relevant to a project we were working on. It was great fun to be so completely on the same page, trying to ferret out fact. I step back from this, and analyze.

Fascinating. This is what I am finding and it's quite exhaustive. I may have to give it up altogethor. Although blatent cues should be easy enough to identify.

I have trouble with things being out of my control. Put simply, my dream job would be to take over from God when he retires. But it doesn't look promising.

Count me in. I like observing people in every day situations like a lesson in school. The precedence of everyone in the classroom shows though easily.

Yes, I am interested in this sort of thing. In a book by Bernard weber, it said that human bevaiour is very similar to that of rats. Apparently we are psychologically very similar to rats.

That would be an interesting take on it for sure.

I do think over human behavior. So many times. And every time I do it it's more difficult than before; though I have began to be in a permanent enlightenment stage, specially after Avatar. Some of these revelations fade away, some others are written somewhere in the four or five little notebooks I have and eventually end up in my computer, in the Project Veritas or in a txt file called "Notes".

I just hope to be able to use all that data for a good purpose someday.

I like predicting human behavior, like, ever try and guess something someone is about to do and just say to yourself "I knew he'd do that.".

Also I like spotting hidden intentions and feelings in people.

Observing human behavior can be fun. I'm a history scholar also so it is enjoyable to read about what people did in the past and how it relates to the present and the future. However, in spite of the fact that it can be demonstrated that humans exhibit such and such behaviors based on what group they are in or belief system, etc humans still maintain uniqueness. It might not look that way all the time. There is a certain amount of "herd" mentality in many of our behaviors. There is also some that is based in some part on instinct but much of it is learned. I think that environmental, social, economic, religious factors play a large role in how we perceive the world and our actions toward it.

It's an interesting idea, I guess. You can tell a lot about people from their actions, their views, their interests. It's just more of what makes us all unique.

Ah yes, it's pleasing to examine the logic of people like Neville Chamberlain in world war 2 and how it contradicts that of Winston Churchill's.
