Hmm... I personally thought the sequels were truly appaling myself, but it's all a matter of taste I suppose...

The sequels were no Back To the Future 1 but I thought they were pretty good nonetheless, especially the second film. I like the way Spielberg returned to the 50's so I could hear the freakin' awesome guitar solo Michael J Fox plays near the end again. :D

The original is a classic. The sequels... I... wait, sequels?

:P

Fkeu'itan 06-04-2010 12:05 AM

Oh I was talking about the Matrix...

All of the BTTF films are slices of gold. :D

The matrix sequels were terribad

Fkeu'itan 06-04-2010 12:20 AM

^this. So much this.

I mean was there really a need for all the rediculous plot twists, crazy characters and "behind the scenes" nonsense?

Human No More 06-04-2010 12:29 AM

Sequels? you're lying!!!

:P

This.

I don't really remember the Matrix sequels, but from what I remember of them they fall in the same category as the last two Star Trek films (Nemesis and the 2009 thing). They're decent movies, but they haven't got anything to do with their predecessors. :D

Correct.

The other two films were barely even a part of the same trilogy in my opinion. But like HNM said, what other two films are we talking about? There were no other films. Move along. Nothing to see here. :D

Oh yeah Zemeckis, Spielberg produced it or co-produced it right?

As for the matrix sequels, I thought they were pretty good, but there were crucial features of the first movie that were abandoned in the sequels, like do instance the Bullet Time Effect, that was scrapped in the second movie for CGI and even then the effect wasn't used the same way.
Another flaw was the music, the first movie had kick-ass D'N'B which added to the movie's 'awesomeness' but sadly the soundtrack for the sequels was a lot more orchestra based and 'serious'.

I think the best way to sum up the sequels would be: really cool movies, but the sequels got a bit too serious.

...Lol, those two reasons were actually why I liked the sequels a lot. :D

I love the sequels, but at least they can't ruined the back to the future trilogy with a 4th, like they did with Indiana Jones...(it was okay, but after 20 years...)
