An idea I had
 

So I had a thought recently... what with the summer fast approaching (maybe already here for some) and people becoming ever more free, how about we have some kind of community culture project?

Stories, poetry, art, music, photography - whatever your muse - we could all come together and produce some kind of celebration of Avatar, the community we have and everything it gave us.

This idea is merely a pipedream at the moment, I just wanted to get some feedback as to who would be interested in taking part in our own cultural celebration...

Well... you have my help, for all the good that is, since I'm not very creative :(
If people want checking, proof reading, etc, I can definitely offer that though :)

Sounds good to me! I've been sitting around trying to figure out how to spend my time now that my semester's over -- I'd definitely be interested in such a project. :)

I can't claim to have any creative skills (I'd like to be creative, but haven't a clue how to get that way -- I've been trying and failing to start writing a short story, for example), but if there's something I can do to take part, I'd love to!

Well, as I said, anything you have to offer is appreciated. I have seen many a show of creative brilliance from pretty much everyone on this forum, i'd just love to encapsulate it in whatever form comes naturally to the contributors.

let's get a big field booked, hire bands, and have a viewing of avatar each day, this could work

Well I would suggest that the content would stay as close to Avatar as possible, but if that stretches to showing your piece of Pandora, that would be ok.

What I was thinking of was almost like a fan book type of thing with photographs, art and other various things. Maybe with a little testimonial from the user who's page (or pages) it is.

The only problem with this is it limits the contributions to 'solid' forms so musicians may lose out. A possible alternative could be to have a digital book with links to youtube videos of the musicians who wish to contribute in their form, i'm not sure... I'm open to any ideas.

After it's completed, maybe we could send it off to someone.. JC, Sam or Zoe? Just like with the letters.

As you can tell, nothing about this is solid yet so keep the suggestions coming. ;)

Hmm, I could quickly knock together a few page layout ideas so you can get a feel for it. I was thinking something along the lines of the survival guide's apperance if you have a copy of that...

Sounds excellent, don't know if there will have to be limits as to how many pages each person can conribute yet, but i'm glad you're on board all the same!
