Isn't the "Avatar" soundtrack just wonderful?

For me all songs from the OST are perfect. I can listen to them all the time and I love every second of each song. Every time I hear them, I feel like I were on Pandora... :) I didn't pick my favourite song, (cause I love them all) but maybe you guys did?

Stanley_9875 06-04-2010 07:17 PM

The OST is a marvelous masterpiece... no other soundtrack has made me feel as close to the movie as the Avatar soundtrack (9 is right up there, as with a few others, but Avatar is top) I don't have a favorite track either, each track represents something beautiful, something spectacular Avatar showed to us, each one has a special place in my heart

Txum_kali'weya 06-04-2010 07:25 PM

i have only listened to the soundtrack once outside of theaters because it is so beautiful.

errrrrrr

rasomaso 06-04-2010 07:28 PM

I think the soundtrack is great, but I don't have the OST. Should I get it then? :D

Buoyant Rock 06-04-2010 07:28 PM

I could not agree with you more Impression. For months I listened to the OST when I drove to and from school. James Horner's masterpiece fell nothing short of just that.

Woodsprite 06-04-2010 07:39 PM

OST's fabulous. Just wonderful; loved it. :P

I have to agree with this though, sometimes I fear the OST will be so hard on my heart, so beautiful and sad that I won't be able to take it :/ I've listened to it more than once though

OST is gorgeous. I can't tell you how many times I've listened to it.

"Pure Spirits of the Forest" calms me down and helps me sleep, especially the part when the seeds drift down and the strings start to play.
"Becoming One of the People" makes me want to run through the woods.
"Climbing up Iknimaya" makes me want to...well...climb the tallest hill around.
"Jake's First Flight" pretty much makes me want to ride an Ikran through the floating mountains at wild speeds [if I were on Pandora that is :( ].
"Gather all the Na'vi Clans for Battle" gets me PUMPED like you wouldn't believe, as does the beginning of "War."
And the end of "War," when the music quiets down to just flutes (the scene when Ney saves Jake) just gets me every time. :'(

Great soundtrack from a great movie! James Horner is outstanding.

natural high rocks! best feeling ever!

The Avatar soundtrack is simply brilliant. The emotions that are present in all the tracks are incredible. It makes me feel happy and sad at the same time. I could listen to it all day and never get tired of it. It is most definitely in my top 5, maybe top 3 favorite soundtracks. I know exactly what is happening in the movie while I am listening to the soundtrack, which makes the connection much more powerful. The music is so fitting to the entire movie that it seems surreal. The music just matches everything that is going on so precisely.

James Horner has crafted a stunning masterpiece and should be extremely proud of himself for creating such wonderful, emotional and inspirational music.

Loverofnature 06-04-2010 08:39 PM

yes! he had some misses, but not with this!

Drewan 06-04-2010 08:40 PM

I have it on a thumbdrive & play it in my car to & from work---helps me get thru my day.

Helicoradian 06-04-2010 08:43 PM

Listening to the sound track brings back such vivid scenes and memories, I love it :) And Pure Spirits of the Forest - it puts me at ease every time I listen.

Loverofnature 06-04-2010 08:45 PM

oh yeah!, love that track! just hate the little dark part, just the little bit

Beautifully said! I couldn't agree more. I have listened to the soundtrack almost exclusively since I got it two months ago. I haven't seen Avatar in over two months, but somehow the soundtrack gives me my Avatar "fix".

My fav tracks are "War", "Gathering the Clans", track #5 and #9 & #10. I can't remember all the names.

Loverofnature 06-04-2010 09:12 PM

track #5 climbing becoming one of the people (great song!)

track #9 Quaritch

track #10 the destruction of hometree

all great songs :D

There are so many emotions that the music of the score and the OST can tap into... I love it, I really do. It's a masterpiece.

I've never had an entire list of tracks that could individually make me cry with overwhelming emotion. That's also why I don't listen to it often- I don't want the effects of it to end :)

I can listen to the whole thing and just about recite the lines for every character, which is kind of funny. Music is great- but wonderful music can transport you, which is exactly what I find here.

Exactly. I find myself looping the movie through my head whenever I listen to the soundtrack, especially the score. For example, when listening to "Gathering the Na'vi Clans for Battle," I picture Jake Sully's war speech in my head as the track plays. Empowering! :war:

love the soundtrack, only 1 of 2 movie scores I have. Usually don't care for them but Avatar's soundtrack was something I had to have on my walkman. I especially love Bioluminescence Of The Night, although everyone seems to like Becoming One Of the People More :( And does anyone know if the edition with ALL the music is out?

Nah, isn't out yet...

...Well technically it is out, but it just hasn't been widely released. It's available for download all over the place.

Human No More 06-05-2010 07:26 PM

I listen to it all the time :D

Sometimes, I have to skip the sad songs like The Destruction of Hometree though, or they make me cry :'(

Stanley_9875 06-05-2010 08:06 PM

this was (somewhat) recent, but one huge experience with the OST...

Becoming One

Marley 06-05-2010 08:12 PM

I love the OST. :)

My favourite 2 are "Becoming one of the people" and "War".

I like the crying though. My own of course, haha- and not in a masochistic way. I like the very outward and uncontrollable display of emotion. I find that's not something I can do all the time in my day-to-day life, as a strong sense of self control is kind of a big part of who I am.

Q: Isn't the "Avatar" soundtrack just wonderful?

A: Yes

/thread

:)

If I'm hardcore about anything Avatar related, it's this. I'm BIG into classical music (this is pretty darn similar), and James Horner=Genius. I have to have listened to every track at least 150 times.

Impressionist 06-06-2010 03:25 PM

Hey, guys! Have you already listened to "Into The Na'vi World"? I think it's awesome!
I've found 4 other bonus tracks on avatar.typepad.com, but still don't know any site, where I can download them. Maybe you do?

Human No More 06-06-2010 03:37 PM

Yeah, I like that one :)

There is a version of the complete score around which has more tracks... can't say more than that though.

Impressionist 06-11-2010 06:39 PM

"Jake's first flight". This song just makes me want to fly together with Jake and Neytiri in the Halleluja Mountains. :D At the end of this track there's a woman singing a song. Is it the same one, that the Na'vi are singing at the Tree of Souls before the arrival of Jake as Toruk Makto?

I often wondered this, infact I compared them and yes, they are the same apart from the song the Na'Vi sung in "Jake's first flight" seems to go on until the end of it, I find that.. Releaving to know how it ends as Jake kinda interrupted the original one... :P

Boomachucka 06-15-2010 06:27 AM

All of the music with vocals (well, vocals with words) are in Na'vi, but I haven't yet seen any translations :)

aoitennyo 06-15-2010 07:45 AM

Oh man, I can't even express how some of these songs make me feel. For example, one of my favorites is "First Look," when he first sees his avatar. It also plays during the atokirina scene (which is interesting, maybe it's a sign that something important about Jake's destiny is happening?)... oh man, the violin part in there...it just pulls at me, so sweet, so heart-wrenching. It's indescribable. Just one part of an awesome soundtrack.
